Comment:

Her class is difficult but doable. I didnt expect to be taking that many notes ( 2 notebooks filled) on my own but i did. Her class isnt impossible but it is a challenge. I found her tests to be somewhat easy but sometimes alittle difficult. Most times easy. Shes a great professor talks about her life alot though but very smart.

At first she seems nice, but she is very unpleasant and condescending. Takes too much about her personal life in class. God forbid you ask her a clarifying question, she gets very defensive and very confusing.

I'm kinda late on making a comment on this professor. But I prefer to make it now for students to know before they make the choice of getting her at all. Back in 2016. Worst professor ever. Talks too much about life, gets made for any little thing you do, and when you suggest to go to office hours she is such a rude person. Don't take her.

I took Anat1 last spring and LOVED it. Dr. Kay is by no means an 'easy professor'. She does not GIVE you a grade, you have to earn it. She very clearly outlines the grading criteria for the course. She encourages you to master material and she is always willing to help you during office hours. She also gives great life advice!

At first seems understanding and good and get a good grade. Later gets extremely hard very fast lectures gets off topic too much that had nothing to do what so ever with the class, the exams are extremely hard, a lot if online work, you technically have to teach yourself to do good in exams and be 24/7 dedicated to this class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!! Sadly the negative reviews about her aretrue. At first she seems nice and approachable but as the weeks go by she becomes very condescending, gets off topic, gets stressed out, and her tests are extremely hard. I would study 6+ hours for the test and go to her office hours and still didn't get A's in test. AVOID HER.

DO NOT TAKE. She is very condescending, gets off topic too often, and will deduct points for missing class. Also extremely unapproachable, and overall just a stressful person to be around. Avoid taking her class at all costs.

She seems to have changed her entire approach to the class after the opportunity to withdraw without a "W" has expired. I will get an A in this class, however I can't stand her. I have never had an issue with a professor, but after watching her berate a student and call him illiterate in front of the entire class, I can't consider her healthy .

So I initially liked this professor. She was funny and energetic. Boy, was I wrong! Aside from her ugly attitude she is virtually inaccessible. Ask a question? NO! Put your hand down. Ask to speak with her after class? You're better off with a brick wall, she won't listen. Do yourself a favor and avoid her at every cost. You'd be saving TONS.

She's has the potential of being a great teacher but is extremely rude which just makes her students uncomfortable and made me not even want to ask questions. She is not approachable your basically o your own just do everything she tells you. I would not recommend her hybrid course either! If you can get another teacher, do yourself a favor AVOID

This professor is horrible. Instead of spending the time in class actually explaining the details of what she needs she just talks about completely unrelated matters. Her lectures are not horrible but she needs to TEACH more. Biology is literally my favorite subject and I am so sad that I got stuck with this teacher, unbelievably disappointing.

Very inspirational however her test are the hardest. they're only based on her lectures. studying is so so important. the class is VERY fast paced. her test are worth a lot and the whole thing isnt multiple choice. dont be late. she will take points off. 1 min late there goes .25 points

Take her. Dr. Azuma is very smart and disciplined. She truly cares about her students and helps them with everything. You will learn a lot from her. Don't be lazy, use her pp slides and study them along with your notes and you'll get good grades. Don't be late to class. Listen to everything she says, taking notes is really important in her class.

She really cares about her students. She gave a lot of extra credit. 3 exams total each exam only covered about 6 different chapters even the final! Quizzes every class. Just Study! Bio2 is not too easy so don't blame the poor professor if you don't want to study at all! If you study a little you'll see how much easier she is making it for you!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! took her for spring. Very well organized, clear about what she expects from us, online assignments, generous grader, exams have many bonus questions, quizzes count as participation points, cares a lot about her students' success. be in class on time, must take notes , just study what she says for her exams.

Professor Azuma has good intentions for her students and provides office hours for help. Don't bother trying to ask questions during her scattered lectures because she will answer them incorrectly and then rush to move along. It is nearly impossible to take notes in this class which makes her unreasonable tests virtually impossible.

Students who give bad feedback to this Professor probably did not try to participate at her class at all. When you are willing to do well in her class the only thing you need to do is to pay attention and to take a few notes. I am a F1-student with English as a second language, but I am still doing great, because she is fun, so is her class.

Honestly, Professor Azuma is by far one of the best professors at SMC. She is straightforward with her expectations as well as what she grades you on. She also always gives her students opportunities to raise their grades. Attendance and participation are important. You have to work for your grade, but she is fair and caters to your needs.

Comes off as rude, but is just blunt, fast-paced, keeps class moving (+ funny). Material and structure can be overwhelming, so see her in office hours; she wants to help. Genuinely cares about student success, very supportive if you meet with her. Students who build a relationship with her like her. It is a TOUGH class, but you will learn a lot.
