Super nice professor, and he really tries to help and raise the class average. He covers everything exactly like he said he would. I would take him again. This class itself is pretty challenging, and for most people, it is the toughest in their degree. So be ready to study and work hard.

This class is challenging but worth it. He's a great lecturer, and he manages to make really difficult concepts slightly less dry. I learned more in this class than in any other econ class. Make sure to take the time to do the assignments, & don't freak out about insanely hard exams -- the curve is fair. Go to his office hours for assignments!

One of the hardest finals I've taken in my university life. Extremely helpful professor if you take the time to to go office hours. Stay on top of the readings and pay attention to everything he says and explains in class and you should do fine.

My favourite class ever. Extremely difficult, but with hard work, you can do well. It's easy to see that he enjoys what he does, and none of his lectures were ever boring, imo. Approachable and always makes sure to go over everything clearly. Assignment questions were very helpful and, although difficult, are worth investing time in. 10/10

One of the best prof in the department. Very clear on a hard subject, so not everyone will understand him. Hard assignments and exams but you will get a fair grade.

This is a tough course. If you're not planning on grad school take it with the other prof. With hard work this class is manageable. Armstrong can be helpful - do not hesitate to ask him questions! He does want his students to succeed, even past the undergrad level which is why this course is so difficult. I would take a class with him again!

Definitely one of the best profs at Carleton. Granted if you don't know what he's talking about you should consider dropping the course or getting the hell out of economics. His classes are hard because the material is hard so he does a great job of weeding out people who shouldn't be in the program. If you're smart take him or just wait a semester

This guy gets a bad rap but he is one of the best profs I've ever had AND extremely helpful. He's hard, but he gets you to think, and he knows that most people don't have the necessary knowledge, so he bell curves. Take it with him.

This guy is ridiculous!! It feels like you have never learnt economics before this class. There is always a different proff the following semester. Avoid Keir Armstrong by all means!

Class teaches you what you need to no for graduate school. Midterm was hard not impossible and bell cuvred like crazy. I personally got an A on it with about 10 hours studying. Helpful hint take 4001 before this class covers all the math for this class.

Holy crap was that class hard. He speaks clearly, but at a high level so you may not understand it. You need to have great math skills for this class, it is not like any other micro class you've taken. He is really helpful if you have specific questions but if you're totally lost, too bad, thank god for the TA without whom I would have been screwed

Worst proff ever. HE is nice, but the exams and his style of teachings are just aweful!! he treats his 1st year students just like 3rd year students. i failed the course because of him.. and made me hate economics which made me change my major. just bad!
