Super engaging, extremely passionate, and hilarious. Exams are pretty easy if you go to class and take notes, and do the readings! Her lectures are very to the point, and she repeats things to make sure you got what she said. Is always happy to answer questions/give clarification.

Kelly is a great prof, her lectures are very straight to the point, she never puts trick questions on the exams, and she marks fairly easy on essays. If you go to class regularly and take notes you will do great. Love her!!

Comment:

Prof. Olson's lectures are extremely interesting if you're into history like I am. She is a very funny individual and the classes were always enjoyable. However, she is a tough marker. Her portion of the class brought everyone's grades down tremendously.

Love night classes with the most boring lectures imaginable? Then this class is for you. Oh, and don't even think about skipping. She doesn't post lecture slides and expects you to show up even when there's a blizzard outside. Just a huge lanista overall, I almost challenged her to 1 v 1 me in the Colosseum.

She was the worst prof I've ever had. She is all over the place, and gives way too much notes, and a lot of readings. It was very hard to keep up with her readings. Exams are very hard, especially if you're not familiar with Classics.

Professor Olson is both kind and funny. She knows her stuff, and explains course material clearly. Exams were a bit tough, but fair. Study the lectures AND the textbook and you'll do well. All exams were multiple choice.

Really awesome prof.! She's really passionate and energetic about Classics but very disorganized. If you're looking for a structured class, Olson is not where to go. She's the reason I'm continuing classes in classics for her really exciting lectures. Can't wait to take Sexuality with her next year. Take a class with her, you'll enjoy it!

I loved attending her classes, she had such passion when she talked it made you want to love the material even more. Study for her tests they can be slightly difficult/ but twice she accidentally put on material we didn't learn but she always ups our averages to even out the difference

As long as you attend lectures, do the readings, and watch the films you'll be fine. My studying for the midterm consisted of re-watching the movies and reading over my notes once. She gives all multiple choice exams (I'm pretty sure for all her courses), and underlines potential exam questions in lectures. Her fashion is also phenomenal!

Olson was one of my least favourite profs this year.Not only does she NOT use web ct but she flies through all of the material during class making it hard to process.Her exams consist of obscure facts and analogies from class and in the textbook(which she barely talks about).4 tests,2 on Greece 2 on Rome DO ALL THE TEXTBOOK/ONLINE READINGS ASSIGNED

I would not recommend anyone to take this course with her. Eventhough the material is potentially interesting, she somehow manages to make it as useless as possible. A lot of unnecessary rote learning, tested on useless details in the exam. It was just rote learning of the material and notes from book, you essentially dont enjoy it or learn anythin

Had her for Classics 1000. Great prof, clear and concise. Repeats everything so note-taking is a breeze. Thorough overhead notes. Exams are the clincher. Make sure you do ALL of the readings, she tests on some trivial/obscure stuff, and you don't have a lot of room to make up marks (4 exams, that's it).
