Prof. Gross is hilarious. His class is very engaging and tends to pretty fun. He's not a hard grader especially if you make yourself pretty clear. There are two 5-7 page papers, one 8-10 page paper and no final. You also have to keep a journal that's not graded.

Nice in class, but pompous one on one. His lectures weren't that enlightening, either. Very helpful for my major...and straight up told me not to take a class with Grella and that I'd be better off doing an independent study, which he would help with. I appreciate his honesty!

Brillant professor! Always willing to help and will go out of his way to get to know his students. Easily accessible. Great lectures!! Go to class and participate in discussion...he takes note of student participation when evaluating student work. The best Professor at UR!!!

He's an excellent speaker, though he, at times, seems like he doesn't actually say anything. But he has a lot of thoughtprovoking ideas. Easy grader. Ambigous relation to class participation leads to a lot of worthless comments.

Very nice guy. Sometimes maybe too nice: he almost never disagrees with a student's idea, even when they're clearly off-base. Not a major problem, though. When he's "on," he is a fabulous lecturer. Easy grader, which may or may not be a good thing.
