Comment:
In this class we read over 100 pages a week, and the readings were repetitive. I am a college freshman and this was a course taken by graduate students, and the amount of work we did was reflective of this. Only a few assignments in this class were graded and your final is 60%, but he is an easy grader. Show up to class and work hard, youll be fine

Comment:
Too much reading every week; on top of that, readings are repetitive by the end of the semester. He can also be rude to students. The amount of work on the syllabus seems daunting at the beginning of the semester, and adding on the readings each week was too much effort for a single class. He grades pretty easily, but you have to put in the work.

Dr. Kiewra was not one of the best profs I've had. The classes became incredibly repetitive and an unnecessary amount of readings were assigned. The information covered was interesting for a couple weeks, but then it got old fast. He's a fairly easy grader but there weren't many graded assignments.

Kiewra was kind, but the class was not at an acceptable level for college Freshmen. This class involved reading 100+ pages every week and there's a final research paper that is 60% of your final grade. My paper was over 50 pages. Also tons of hw q's. Way more stressful than necessary. Interesting content, but really only geared toward EDPS majors.

A worthwhile class for any teacher truly interested in creating lesson plans and study materials that integrate study skills directly to the subject taught students. Dr. Kiewra teaches you logic and makes you think. I only wish he taught more graduate level classes in my program of study at UNL>

This class was pretty boring and I didn't get much out of it. But the teacher does tell some pretty funny bad jokes if you need a good laugh! If you pay attention in class and study a little you should get an A

Being taught how to learn by a guy who hasn't learned that nobody finds his class appealing. He would call on students at the beginning of class to learn more about them, oddly enough the majority of people he called on were attractive girls. Dont waste your money on the textbook.

Took the graduate course of EDPS854 Human Cognition. He concentrated on his book of study skills, since the study skills course has been eliminated. So, if you need a 4th grade course that teaches you how to study take this one, otherwise take it with someone else. Waste of time and money with him.

It is either his way or the highway. He discourages any critical examination of the material. He should be wearing a T-shirt that says, "For our five millionth example, let̢۪s look at chess!"

Often contradicts his own strategies for teaching. Little regard for individualized student focus; you either understand things his way, or too bad. Seems to deem himself the god of learning. Should wear a shirt that reads: "I'd rather be researchin
