Everybody likes Kruempel until they get their graded homework back. His grading is fair, but INCREDIBLY strict; he takes off massive amounts of points for small mistakes and insists that certain things be written in particular formats. Some questions on the final were not like anything covered in class, or on the homework, or in the textbook!

Where do I even begin....I suggest NOT taking this class from this professor! Unfair grading...Nitpicky about every little thing...pop quizzes...tests that make no sense...and toooo much work for just a 4 credit class. Don't forget about the labs and prelabs due...what a joke.

He is very strict and almost overly nitpicky about things. This is all for the better, because I learned tons in this class and it is very important material for EEs. He is very fair and knowledgeable. Best thing: Anything you turn in, is graded and back in your hand the very next class period without question.

Very exacting. Small mistakes on exams or homeworks will cost you big points. Partial credit is a luxury. Concepts are not too hard, but only about half of class time is spent on new material, the other half is spent on reviewing homeworks. Pop quizzes throughout the semester over material learned within the past lecture or two.

Easy class, just do exactly what he says (including drawing boxes around your node voltage eqns) and you will get an A. Before tests, study the odd book problems because the "hard" problem on most tests were exact replicas of book probs (and 3 out of the 4 tests and the final I had the exact problem on my crib sheet)

Don't go into this class expecting an easy A. Unless you're some kind of circuiting genius, you're going to spend time every night either doing homework, studying for tests, or doing one of the projects. SI is VERY helpful. Excellent instructor, but tough. Helpful on a one-to-one basis. And make sure you spell his name right! :)

Difficult instructor, but forces you to learn the material. I highly recommend attending SI, helps a ton on tests. Got an A in the class with about 6 hours per week of study.

He takes off points for little things, but he does it to everyone and the class is curved, so it's not that big of a deal. You need to put some time into your assignments and work carefully to succeed in his class. After taking his class, you'll never forget what the passive sign convention is.

Lecture is really just him putting up problems from the book, and then complaining about the former ISU prof who wrote the text. Some people say that me makes you learn the material- I say he's just reads a scripted PowerPoint lecture.

Never in three years have I taken a class from a person I felt such strong hatred towards, but I can't think of many who taught me more. Taking a class with Kruempel is like rolling around in a big pile of salt: makes your skin thicker, but oh it burns!
