I had K. Moss for West Lit at Marist 16 yrs ago. He's the only teacher at Marist who stood out, in a good way, IMO. It's also the only class I actually enjoyed and felt was worthy of my time/energy. He's not going to give you an A just for showing up, but if you make an effort and take an interest, it's not difficult to do well in his class.

He is alright. Kind of gives grades based on how much he likes the person. Makes class awkward with frequent sexual references. Tests are very hard to study for, simply because you don't know what to study for. He adds things that were never gone over in class. Can be boring at times. He is kind of crazy. Get on his good side!

Hes not as creepy as people say with the sex references. he mentions them but moves on...come on were in college we should be able to talk about sex. not hard at all. very reasonable reading especially for a literature class. interesting guy and class knows alot about what hes teaching definitely take!!

Ok.. I took Prof Moss's Classics of western literature class 2 years ago. I still remember every detail. It was by far the most interesting class I have ever taken. I still bring up things I learned in his class in daily conversation. The man is way too smart to be an adjunct. The class is hard but SO worth it. MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE PROF AT MARIST

Comes off as a crazy old man at the beginning of the semester but really starts to grow on you after a while. Reading homework for every class, material is often very boring. Only two major assignments (workbooks). Midterm & final aren't too bad. Not too tough of a grader.

Professor Moss is a close minded mysoganistic fool who should not be teaching Englsih. He doesn't grade students on their worth unless they see the concepts his way and speaks his language. He missed his calling. He should have been a Shakespearean actor.

Comment:
The course has to deal somewhat with the topic of sex but it seems as though Prof. Moss really drags it out and makes it an unnecessary focus of some of the classes. In other words, he's kind of ****ed. He's kind of crazy too. All in all it's not that hard of a class and you do learn a lot from it. And trust me, you'll always stay awake!

he makes class exceedingly uncomfortable with open discussions about sex, he doesn't review for exams, all he does is read aloud from a textbook. he was unforgiving when i had to miss classes for serious health problems. i immediately regret this class. worst teacher i've ever had.

Prof. Moss is OK. He gets bad reviews because he can be a little strange but he is an OK guy. Like any lit class, it is hard to tell how the Prof will grade and Moss is as unpredictable as the rest. He is not the best teacher ever--but by far not the worst.

Prof Moss is one of the best professors Ive had so far in my college life. He really opened my eyes on what has happened in history and he backs up his points. All though you may disagree with a lot of his theories and proposals he puts out there, he gives you the choice to decide whether you believe them or not. Be warned, this class isnt for all.

By far the worst teacher I have had at Marist. He is an old, ****ed man who grades very unfairly and holds boring classes. DO NOT take him for an easy A in core english!

all he talks about sex and he's old...very boring class, readings are uninteresting, but it is a pretty easy A, very unconventional midterm and final (not even worth studying for b/c it won't be on what he talked about in class)

VERY strange guy, but he's cool. The class is interesting. Lots of opportunities to speak your mind. The tests are hard -- he asks questions that he never goes over in class, but he grades easily. Never told us what percentage our grades are worth. Participation=extra credit.

alittle weird (sings in class), if you do your reading you should be alright, interesting course if you can put up with the beginning, fair with his grading if you put in a decent effort & you make good comments, unconventional style of teaching
