Ken did a good job of explaining the concepts in memorable/entertaining ways. He had fairly high expectations but was very reasonable. Definitely one of the better profs I've had so far

His course was well structured. His material is difficult but he is an excellent instructor that wants his students to do well. He is available to his students and gives good feedback. So despite the level of difficulty, his students succeed if they try. He is knowledgable within his field. I will always recommend this proff.

Was great and provided a laid back interesting learning environment that made it easy to learn and was willing to help you understand concepts in office hours. HE could have been a little more organized and was sometimes tough to understand in the way he explained concepts.

Ken Otter is pretty awesome! He presents material clearly and does not go too fast. It is important to study hard for his exams because he expects specific details on the long answer questions. He uses a lot of analogies and speaks the same way everyone else does; he does not use a bunch of technical terms. The final was reasonable.

Amazing teacher. Went above and beyond what was expected. So much hands on experience in his class. He brought in a cougar to work on! He wrote his own book, published it, and is giving it to his students at the cost of printing! His lectures are clear and engaging. When I have questions he is able to answer them every time to my satisfaction.

Dr. Otter is a nice and humorous guy, but his lectures in this course were very boring and his speaking was usually very monotone and hard to follow. He was helpful outside of class if you meet with him. Easy marking on exams. Very knowledgable, just a dry course all around. Do some regular textbook studying and you'll be fine.

Says UM way too much. Very monotone and does not make lectures interesting at all. Hard to follow. Was kind of helpful when you asked for help.

His passion for the subject is evident. He's a really nice guy, and he simplifies concepts with really funny demonstrations. Some lectures are a little dry, and it takes some effort to stay focused. The exams are challenging but not impossible, and he provides tons of resources to help you succeed. Great prof overall!

Good lecturer, lots of examples. Helpful too, approachable even on the bus if you happen to catch him. Material is hard for Bio 101, but he breaks it up pretty well. Hard marker, won't accept BS, but does give some feedback on exams IF YOU ASK FOR IT. The feedback was invaluable.

Ken knows his stuff and uses all kind of funny examples to help make the info stick. He's a TOUGH marker so you can't bull-crap on exams, but he rewards good work. He sometimes seems intimidating but is actually super friendly and helpful one-on-one.
