I have taken a lot of classes with Deutsch. He can be a jerk sometimes but if you ever talk to him outside of class, he is insanely nice and he is the first to admit that the students in his classes are above average. Dont be scared! He is old fashion and cynical but I have NEVER learned more from a teacher in my life.(Senior now). Take good notes!

This class was interesting but I prefer not to be motivated by threats and fear. If we learned anything it should of been that the best Prince is both loved and feared. However, Deutch is not loved in any shape or form, just feared.

Avoid him at all costs, he is a self-absorbed bitter old man who really needs to get a life and stop trying to feel better about himself but putting everyone else down. Smart guy but a total jerk and is a horrendous teacher. Once again dont take his classes and DONT do the Legal Studies (aka The Ken Duetsch)Minor. You DONT need it for law school.

EVIL. when i went to him for help, all he did was discourage me. he basically told me that i was too dumb for his class and that i should just drop it. he doesnt give you room for any improvement. absolutely no extra credit. would never ever recommend him.

He is mean spirited and small minded. He is, though, a good teacher and you will learn a lot from him. He tries to cultivate an image of complexity and intellectualism, it is just a facade. Don't be intimidated just go in there to get the job done and you will be fine.

Get with it people...this is a serious teacher for a serious world. The only people who dont like him are those who are lazy..He stimulates inteligent debate, makes you think about positions carefully. He has helped me a great deal!!!!!
