This class is project heavy, but you learn a lot about web development. The projects will consume your life by disallowing you to go outside after doing homework for other classes. I would recommend this class only to people who have time to work on the very long projects.

Had very tough quizzes every week (You needed to constantly learn a lot of new info every week), the assignments were easy in the beginning but got extremely difficult with his lack of information towards the end of the course, and the final was extremely long. He can be very condescending and class takes up a lot of time. He's not pleasant to have

Graduated in 2012. After 5-6 years in the real world, I'm happy to have taken classes with Dr. Hunt. He expects effort, he challenges students, and yeah - he gives quite a bit of homework. After graduation, when you're working your first job, you'll be happy you tried hard and became a better developer. Well worth the time.

DON'T TAKE IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO. KENNY HUNT GRADES YOUR CODE BY PUTTING IT THROUGH ANOTHER PROGRAM, AND AS A RESULT YOUR ASSESSMENTS MIGHT BE OFF. DOES NOT TELL YOU IN LECTURE WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR THE ASSIGNMENTS.

Comment:
Positive - you learn ALOT in this class. Most of what you learn is very useful. Negative - most of what you learn you have to search for on your own (Stack Overflow, Google.. Etc) to complete theassignments. Expect about one program every 7/10 days and a quiz every Friday. Programs are 15-30h for completion. Skip Hunt if you can

Comment:
402 was one of the hardest classes I've taken simply because of how Hunt taught the class. He made that class way harder than it needed to be. Assignments contained obstacles that would never be in any web application design. An assignment was almost due weeks before we learned the concepts needed to start it. Could not recommend this teacher.

Easily the hardest class I've ever taken, but at the same time one of the most rewarding. Prof. Hunt is not very clear at times on what he wants you to do for certain parts of assignments. If you want to get a good grade you absolutely must ask him questions or meet with him during office hours. Only take this class if you have a lot of free time.

Don't take this professor. He is very disrespectful towards students that ask questions or think differently. He gives busy work and takes off points without good reason. Whatever you do, DO NOT take robotics with him. He has unrealistic expectations and makes fun of students when they have difficulties.

You will get large Java projects that take tens of hours and have little to no explanation or help offered which makes you never want to go to the class. He also loves to laugh at students who get anything wrong like and acts likes hes better than everyone. Hate to say it since robotics is a great subject, but don't take this class.

There's no point in taking one of his classes if you're not ready to work hard. This is the hardest class I've taken, coming from a Junior. It was a lot of fun, too! Besides him being a bit condescending at times, there's really nothing to complain about. He's quite intelligent, and there's lots of learn from him.

His class is pretty boring and difficult to understand if you don't have any background with computers. He is not a bad teacher if you know a little bit about computers. He just teaches a difficult subject to understand.

One of the best professors in the department. He explains the material thoroughly at a slightly slower pace, so you'll understand the concepts very well, which is nice. Attendance is optional. Very helpful in answering questions and debugging. Homework was easy and tests contained no surprises. Great professor overall.

Not everyone has a knack for computer science. Though, if you don't get a decent grade in this class, it is not because of the professor. He is very concise. Tests are fairly easy -- practice tests are provided that cover practically everything you might encounter on the test. Go to class, look over notes, and study the exams and practice tests.

Doesn't help you with anything, expects you to be able to apply things just from knowing a concept without any help, insults you if your code is wrong, laughs at you if you say the wrong answer, doesn't care about his students succeeding, just wants you to know that he's better than you at coding.

Very monotone, but cracks some good jokes. Although not mandatory, I'd suggest doing the tutorials and going to class. It helps. The project is a killer though. Start early!
