amazing professor and an inspiring teacher. knowledgeable beyond the narrow conventional curriculum. very insightful and helpful in understanding what's really going on. he's a legend. by far best professor I've ever had.

Its been years, and I still recommend this legend. Straight up tells you how awful moments in history were, gets the class involved, and throws in some jokes along the way. Well informed. 3 exams fill in the ___ must spell correctly and a 5 page essay end of semester. To this day I bring up stuff I learned from him, wish I could take him more.

he's a chill guy but he shoves his political views down your throat (yes he's a republican, sadly) and doesn't really let you argue or share yours if he doesn't agree. very unprofessional at teaching politics, doesnt talk about the corruptness in america /:

there's only 3 grades. 2 tests and a paper. the tests are all fill ins. (no multiple choice). you need to show up to class and take good notes. dont take this class unless you are prepared to work for it

Took the class as a freshman, heavy lecturer if you takes notes you'll be fine. Only three graded assignments two test and a paper ( on your choice of topic). Funny guy really cool, if need something ask.

Kent is a very nice professor. He cares about you and wants you to do well. He loves what he teaches. You get packets before every new section. Know this packet and you'll do well on exams. Exams may sound hard, but if you know your packet, it's very easy. Great guy! Enjoyed the class!!

Kind of an odd guy, but knows his stuff and is passionate about it. Sometimes goes off on tangents and tosses his own opinion in on certain topics that seems inappropriate but usually reels it back in. Grade comes from 3 tests and 1 paper. He hands out these awesome little note packets that if you study them, you will pass your test every time.

Good at keeping students interested and does not avoid subjects because of wanting to be politically correct. He teaches things as they were and cares about students getting a good grade.

Honestly didnt learn a thing about politics or government at all. He types up his own handouts (with no sources!!!!!) and doesnt use a text book. So far weve covered only conspiracy theories surrounding JFK with no outside sources, just his handout. Not a great class to learn, but a good class to pass if you can remember the material.

Great professor, knows what he is talking about. He is not very liberal biased like most, but rather bi-partisan. Learned a lot in his class, just make sure you study for the tests. I would recommend taking him.

Kirkpatrick was a good professor, made class interesting. He did do a few movies and talk over them. He gives 2 tests and 1 paper, that is all you are graded on. If you are not good at memorizing, don't take this class.

Great Professor that really gets to the point. His lectures are pretty interesting and he does a good job of explaing whatever he Is talking about. The test are kind of difficult. There are about 30 fill in the blanks with no word bank and 3 essay questions. If you study and pay attention in class you will have no problem passing.

(Survey of American Gov) Probably one of the best teachers I've ever had! Don't skip class, don't be late (he starts right away), ask questions- he clarifies well. Hilarious guy, makes it extremely easy and fun to sit through a lecture. Definitely going to take 19th Century Hist in the fall with him.

Entire class is based on a two tests and a paper. The tests are horrid! You are given approximately 26 word banks where you have to remember exact dates of events, no multiple choice. Kirkpatrick is a nice guy but the class structure is very poor. I suggest you look elsewhere unless you can remember every single small detail of pages of paper.

Been in his class for half a semester now. He's definitely not a blow off teacher , he definitely teaches the material and delivers it in a humorous way! you will walk out of class having learned something !

Kirkpatrick is the man! Absolutely loved him, and would take him again! He is so knowledgable about history! Also, this professor was always thanking me for actually showing up to class and taking it seriously. He wrote "thank you" on my tests! The professor was thanking me, when I should be the one thanking him! He WANTS you to get an A!! :)

Kirkpatrick was an amazing professor, hilarious lectures and the class is composed up of two exams and a paper. The exams are easy, and the paper is easy. You just need to know what you are talking about. Over all, best professor ever, would take again.
