Do not take this class!!!!! I repeat do not take it!!!! It's so difficult and he doesn't give extra credit!!!! He gives you way to much homework! And not enough time to complete it!!!!!!! And the book/code to even access the class is rediculously overpriced!!!!!! He doesn't care if you pass or fail!!!! Do your job!!!!!!!

Very helpful. You can tell that he truly cares for the students and goes out of his way to help them. He is highly recommended for any Spanish class!

I have taken two years worth of classes at Richland and he is the worst teacher I've had with a bullet. He is not a teacher, he's a glorified calculator, passing judgment on work that he didn't come up with. He will not teach you, the book will attempt, but the work load and his insolence will embitter you before the first assignment is over.

Took his online class for maymester, don't make that mistake. Literally assigned over a hundred assignments due every three days of the class. I spent all of my free time and even did it at work and didn't finish all of them. Made me not even want to learn it anymore. Don't bother buying the book either, it's a bunch of pieces of paper. & he's rude

Took online Span1412 and regret it. A RIDICULOUS amount of work for a Maymester. I mean ridiculous. Take any other professor. I took spanish 1411 at DCCCD and my professor had a reasonable amount of work. This class has a stupid amount of work and you don't get unlimited chances on practice activities which defeats the purpose of "practice", right?

Absolutely a terrible experience. I went in ready to learn and by the end I felt dumb and hated Spanish. If you are taking it for credit take someone else, if you are taking it to learn just get the book because Kevin is not a teacher. Kevin is what is wrong with the American education program!!

If you are going to take his online class, be prepared to be taught on an online website. This professor does not make his own assignments and you do not even need the book.. only the online code. He also talks to you like you aren't worth anything. Don't recommend.

I took Kevin Beard's winter-mester. Spanning from Dec. 19th to Jan. 9th I had 12 major assignments with 60 lessons in each assignment. I can't speak for any other class, but.. DO NOT TAKE KEVIN BEARD'S INTERMEDIATE SPANISH 2 DURING THE WINTER BREAK. IT WILL RIP OUT YOUR SOUL. AND YOU STILL WONT LEARN SPANISH. WORST CHRISTMAS BREAK EVER.

I have this professor for Spanish 3 (2311). It is a LOT of work but nothing that you cannot finish in a week. The tests are VERY short and the content is fair. Professor Beard is also incredibly fast at posting your grades. You know what you made on the test within a few hours of taking it. No reason not to make an A or B in here. Take him.

I took this course online, and it heavily relied on Vistas. If you took an introductory course before taking this class, it is a breeze. Vistas and the book gave clear explanations of the lessons, and he encouraged us to email him with questions. He is quick with his grades and doesn't allow late work. Stay on top of your work, and you'll be fine.

-Took online as most Spanish classes are online. The 40 or more hmwrk. assignments forced me to focus on getting the work done as oppose to learning. Repetition works, but definitely stressful. Liked the little telenovelas on Supersite, even the video tutorials were helpful. If you are taking 2 or more classes don't take this time consuming class.
