Prof. James's course was more interesting than the lecturer who was frenetic. He rushed through material. He spent more time telling us to go away and do our own thing than teaching us. I think he has other priorities over the course.

If anyone says they have ever met a more engaging Prof, they are lying. Kevin James is an absolute national treasure. He has been at the University for over 17 years for good reason. Kevin legitimately cares about all his students, he takes the time to learn basically all of their names individually. In my opinion, the best professor on campus!

Comment:

Kevin is an absolutely amazing Professor. I have never seen a Prof take the time to learn all 55 of his students' names - he genuinely cares about everyone in his classes. Covers assignment and exam material extensively so everyone can succeed, and made even really dry topics engaging. I would recommend taking a class with Kevin any day!

Kevin is the most enthusiastic professor I have ever had. He was always available to talk after lectures and took a genuine interest in nurturing all student's development. He is perfectly suited to teaching Historiography as he was a prominent influence to the notion that anything can be a source of history.

One of the best professors I've personally experienced. He brought high energy to every single lecture and made going to class a positive experience. He is also very helpful outside of the classroom when discussing course material; you can tell he truly cares about his students. I highly recommend taking a class with Professor James.

Kevin is honestly the best professor I have had at Guelph. He goes above and beyond to make what would be dry material an interesting class to attend. I would probably not have attended lecture, had I had another prof. He is always available to meet and always, always, ALWAYS willing to help! He genuinely cares for his students!

I was afraid that this course would be boring but Professor James makes it very enjoyable to learn about historiography. He is always enthusiastic and clearly loves his job, which makes attending his lectures a lot of fun. He shows a lot of appreciation towards his students too. The sweetest prof I have ever met! Takes time to learn students names, answers emails instantly, expands office hours before exams and essays! He will do whatever he can to help you out. Made going to class enjoyable. Learned everyone's name by the 2nd class, and became very personable. Helped us study a lot for final exam, had office hours almost everyday before it. Always joking around and making fun of himself. Turned a somewhat dull topic into an interesting and fun class. Best prof I've had at the University.
