Shaw is the only reason I liked Bio 101. Then again, anyone teaching after Sodegren who doesnt say Uh, Um, or Er every three seconds would be good. He is a really likeable guy that teaches the material well and is easy to understand.

dr. shaw is the epitome of a science geek. he tells extremely corny jokes and is generally just hilarious (not sure if he's aware that we laugh AT him and not WITH him, but that's beside the point). *extremely* helpful outside of class, always is willing to re-explain material until it makes sense. not extremely hard and very fair.
