Professor Kia's number one goal is for her students to understand the material and get good grades. She knows the subject very well and is very eager to teach it. If people don't like her it's because of her accent, come on, she cannot control that! I suggest you take her if you're passionate to learn the subject...she makes it easy to understand.

Look -- I realize she's got an accent and writes a lot of notes on the board -- but she is more than willing to explain anything you don't understand before, during and after class. I read zero for the class and got an A. Everything you need to know to get an A is from the notes she writes on the board. There's some writing-easy.

not the best teacher, very strict attendance policy, but take notes, go to class, speak up once in a while and she'll like you. study from text and notes for tests and you'll do fine. i actually learned a lot about the middle east and the islamic world in this class in a non-biased way

WORST TEACHER EVER! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS... im telling you, it may be on the easier side BUT it is NOT I REPEAT NOT WORTH YOUR TIME... she doesn't know a word of english and doesnt't care about you if you aren't her favorite. She always thinks she's right, and has a serious problem using anything other than the blackboard aka the projector!

Yes, she is hard to understand at first, but everything she says she writes on the board anyway. She is sweet and nice and when you get an A on a paper or a test, she makes the class clap for you. Her tests are simple and her grading is easy.

nice enough at heart but that's where it end. really thick accent makes it hard to understand and horrible handwriting doesn't help when giving notes. work is ridiculously easy. doesn't notice if you leave after attendance. very unaccomodating.

Easy grader, bad speaker. Heavy persian accent. Once during role call I didn't recognize my own name, she mangled it so bad. Tests and projects are cake, you only need to pretend to take the huge volume of notes she writes.

This is the easiest class I have ever taken. I do not know why anyone would not take this class...if you have a chance take her!! I went to just about every class and left 15 minutes into it and she didn't notice, I got an A- in the class, easiest clas!
