Comment:
Dr. Bonner is a great prof but this class felt more like a philosophy class than a soc class. he is passionate about what he teaches but some of the concepts are hard to grasp. uses texts instead of textbooks which helps save some $$

I personally enjoyed SOC 101 very much and found it incredibly interesting. Dr. Bonner is a great professor who knows the materiel very well, and genuinely cares about the success of his students. The content was somewhat difficult at first, but got much easier as the course progressed. Extra help sessions were also offered before exams and tests.

Everyone's negative assessment of Dr. Bonner is very untrue. i have taken many courses with Dr. Bonner. He is so passionate about the material he teaches and explains the most difficult topics in very similar ways. He is very approachable and as long as you put in the work you will pass with 80s. I got a 86% in one of the hardest courses soc 408.

Prof. Bonner has been my favourite prof thus far. His lectures deal critically with relevant issues + require personal reflexivity on the part students. He emails back quickly + answers questions clearly. He's such a nice guy + has the cutest Irish accent. 1010 would recommend if you like to think + want to be engaged in class discussion + content

Even though his materials are complex and hard to understand he does a great job of explaining and making sure no one is left behind. He has a cool accent. He has supernatural senses that enable him to indicate who is lost in the class. He is always happy to go back and clear up any confusions. Try not to zone out in his classes, you will regret it

Class and theory was interesting, but lectures and marking scheme was very confusing, didn't clarify what his expectations were for the assignments, very ambiguous.

I think you either really like him or don't like him at all - there's no middle ground. I was the latter, so I dropped the class. He teaches unique material in a unique way; if you're not "getting it" after the first lecture, you should probably switch out of it.

His material is very philosophical and contrary to popular ways of thinking...interesting once you get used to it. At times difficult to grasp his thought process. Loves Arendt.
