I skipped a lot of classes and still managed to get an A, shes very sweet and caring, her office is always open for students and shes very helpful, she does give a lot of HW but she goes over it the next lecture, shes quiet so i would fall asleep at times but overall shes very good!

Comment:

Very scattered teacher. Spends most of class showing you how to set up a problem then rushes to show you an actual problem at the end of class. Starts showing you a problem and frequently loses place then starts writing info from a different problem until a student speaks up to correct her. Many things in the tests that she doesnt cover in class.

Mrs. Tan is a fun teacher. She is very nice and this class was not very hard. I missed a lot of class due to work, but still passed with an A. She does give points for attendance though. Her tests are pretty thorough so make sure you study!

I LOVE Kim Tan! She is so amazing. All accounting teachers should learn from her. She makes class enjoyable to go to. Has a great personality and is hilarious which is a break from the other accounting professors who have no personality. Her class is difficult but the structure of her class makes it easy; learn the material then you practice w/ her

Took her for managerial accounting over the summer. It was an online class but she laid out her lectures very well and I thought the class was pretty easy. She does make you understand the material as the tests are 70% of your grade.

Best Accounting professor I've taken at CSU Stan. Explains complex material in a manner that makes it easy. Follow the guidesmethod sheets she gives you for each chapter. Good in class examples. Study what she says will be on test--gives hints during lecture. She also has a good sense of humor and cares about student's professional development.

I loved her willingness to help all her students; however, her notes would drive me crazy. They are very unorganized and messy. Also, your grade is very dependent on how you do on the exams, so if you mess up badly on one, you're putting yourself in a tough position of passing or not.

Great accounting teacher! She knows what you need to know and you can tell she loves accounting. She can be hard to understand, but I got used to her accent within a couple weeks. She does a lot of examples in class that correspond to the HW which comes straight from the book, so you do need the book if you want to succeed!

This class does require some time and effort, but overall its well worth it!..She explains things very well, and is willing to help her students out..I actually looked forward to going to her class because of her humorous jokes! Dr. Tan is willing to help students. Her class is fairly easy if you pay attention her class and work hard enough at your management acct. She just goes over her ppt to explain the concepts and uses the blackboard to solve problems. At first it may be hard to understand her accent, but you will get used to this. sometimes she acts cute though.

Definitely get the easy HW points to help u pass this course. Material isn't difficult, just WAY to many formulas to memorize. Final u get 3x5 card, but problems are more indepth then just trying to remember the formulas. Grades heavy on tests (4 points per problem), so if u only miss 3 q's on the test--you are at a B already. Disappointing class.

I thought this would be an easy A- wrong!! I am an A student and this class was not easy and lot of work. Nearly impossible to get an A- was concerned that I may not even pass!! Homework every night & on top of that workbook problems. Attendence is mandatory. Test are MC and a couple problems by hand and not easy. A lot of formulas to memorize!!

Dr.Tan is a very good instructor. I actually enjoyed her lectures, because of her silly jokes. Her style of teaching was perfect. She was always organized and knew exactly what she was talking about. She is very cool and funny for an accounting professor. Nice Class !!
