If you're lucky enough to have the chance to take this woman, jump at it. I was the only freshman in the class but i did not feel left out at all. She really made me think and opened my eyes. She is by far my favorite teacher, and i will miss her class dearly.

King dominates class discussions and never allows a point other than her own to be made. She is as closed-minded as a person can be. I can't believe they let her teach diversity. Try not to take her class if at all possible!!!

She's difficult, but she is an excellent teacher. King will test your beliefs and make you think long and hard about your resoning. Use her office hours and remember to keep her chi balanced. She loves talking about her family, so if you get overwhelmed- talk about that. Do you work.

She's not closed-minded. She's trying to make you think. She's using psychology and educational philosophy to play with your brain. She challenges your notions of the world to make you more open-minded. Most people ignore the elephant in the room. She wants you to look at it, admit it is there and decide what to do with it. I'm white and love it.

I have never witnessed such a close minded woman. For a person who is teaching diversity and open-mindedness she has a biased way of looking at folks. If you're white, you might as well drop the class. It's people like her that give the civil rights movement a bad name. Do yourself a favor take Kaminsky, the man will inspire you unlike this heifer.

best teacher Ive had at auburn so far. Yes, she is very hard and you need to read and do all the work she assigns. she teaches you to explore your own values and beliefs and challenges you to think for yourself. you can get a lot out of this class if you work hard. she expects college level work... no multiple choice or short answer tests.

Dr. King-Jupiter is hard, don't get me wrong. But I understand where she is coming from. When I have children, I want to know that their teacher is highly qualified. I really enjoyed her class, it really made me think for myself which many professors don't let you do at Auburn. If you want to learn about education and yourself take her.

I love this woman. I think it is hysterical to watch the eyes of the little sorority girls in class. I think she likes to play with their brains. Amuses me greatly. She is definitely hard, so you need to know your material.

I'm sure she's proud of her Ph.D. I would be, too, especially if I came from the disadvantaged background that she did. She is an amazing woman with a lot to teach. She likes to shock you to make you think. She does grade hard, but life is not always easy. Deal with it.

Dr. King is a well read, interesting professor. There is a great deal of reading involved in her class but it is interesting. The problem others have, I feel are based on her tendency to make things revolve around race, even when it is not a factor.

Please take my advice.She is the worst teacher I ever had. She does not even deserve a 1 for clarity. All I can say is if you need a good grade, don't take her because she will ruin your GPA. Since this is a 6 hour credit class it counts a lot. It is worth it to wait until next semester if all other classes are filled. Good Luck.

Dr. King isn't that terrible. Yes, the class is hard, and yes, she grades very tough, but I have learned a lot these past few weeks. You have to read and keep up with the materials to do well, and try to be involved in class discussions. She is willing to help outside of class, but sometimes she's hard to get in touch with.

The split of opinion between students of this class and her other class is strange. I can't imagine why her other class likers her so much. She is SO proud that she has her PHD, and she lets you know. I felt she was all fancy words and very little high-quality arguement. EVEYRONE in my class hated her. Grades hard, a class you will dread every week

This is a great class. Dr. King-Jupiter acts more like a facilitator. Sometimes, she would just give an assignment and go to her office. We could call about questions, but she left us alone to work. It's much more important in this class to get along with your classmates. You have to write a dissertation together. I had fun.

I found the comments about Dr. King-Jupiter to be unfounded. I'm a white male, so according to comments, she should have hated me. She didn't. I don't agree with all of her views, but I can respect her. She's a great professor and makes you think for yourself. So far, I've made an A in every class. I think she's great.

I like this class and I love Dr. King-Jupiter. She is very amusing and makes you think. Using higher-level thinking skills is difficult for some. She tends to grade fairly harshly. But, it is not impossible to make an A. I don't really see what the undergrads get upset about.
