I had Professor Byrd for an honors class my freshman year. He is a professor in the business college, and runs his class as such. He uses relative grading, which was frustrating to me, since I was a freshman engineering major who didn't actually choose the class (I was given it), being compared to upperclassmen business/accounting majors.

The layout of the course was all discussion based, so no tests, just reading, writing, debates, and a presentation. He is not clear on what he want/expects on assignments. Don't take this if you want an A. I did all my work, put in effort, and still couldn't even pull an A-. Take a different honors course that will boost your GPA, not hurt it

Professor Byrd is really a nice guy. He is very respectful to his students and he is more then willing to provide help when you need it. I wasn't that interested in business before I took his class but I did find it interesting after his class. He is fair but you have to work hard.

One of the best teachers i've ever had evey time after i left his class i wanted to actually involve myself in what i was learning. Having his class made me feel equipped for real world business.

Prof. Byrd is one of the most articulate speakers I've ever come across. He makes everything clear and easy to understand (esp in a legal class) and is more than willing to help you in and out of the classroom. Tests aren't easy, but if you work hard he realizes it. The class itself can be a bit boring, but he makes it worth going to...

A really smart guy who know his stuff. The exams are really tough, and he expects you to know alot. I read every chapter and I was happy with a B. This class was tough, but I learned a lot. It might help to be on his good side (brown-nose).

Class is ok day to day but the tests are ridiculous and the final was near impossible....I didnt learn much, I suggest taking another teacher. Also a very tough grader, takes points off out of nowhere.

Byrd is very nice and seems easy going. First test is simple, he kills you on the midterm. Grades extremely hard! And takes off mystery points. Havent taken the final yet, so who knows!

Grades a lot on participation,so talk. Discussions are interesting.Pay attention & study tests aren't bad. 10 page paper isn't as hard as it seems. Be very clear & explanatory in all writing for him. Go to office hours even if you don't have trouble.REALLY takes that into consideration when grading.

Great teacher. Helped out, asked the class for feedback, and made the very difficult and large amount of coursework bareable. Test are tough only if you dont take notes and miss more classes than necessary. His notes are VERY helpful.

So nice. If you go to class, particpate, do homework, and ask questions, you will do well. Kinda hard test, but he makes prior years test and study guides available. They will help so look at them. He also makes the class intersting. If I could, I would take him for everything. Take him he is GREAT
