I took this course online and felt very unprepared for every assignment and quiz, she hardly gave any feedback the entire semester on any assignments or quizzes so it was impossible to know what I was doing wrong. I don't like having group projects in an online class, and if you don't like that I'd advise not taking her online classes.

All I can say is WOW. This was one of the worst courses & professors I've encountered in my 3+ years at IUPUI. She's an extremely tough grader, gives group work in an online setting, & is RUDE! I received snarky and unnecessarily mean responses anytime I emailed her. She acts like shes there to help, but when you ask for it, you are treated poorly.

she is hard as heck... she is highly critical and will talk to you like trash. it is a 100 level class and she acts like you are taking a 400 level class.. my 400 level classes are easier. she is not nice. she will try to work you to death and then give u a c... not a good class to take if you have a busy schedule.. tests are hard.

Her tests were tough, with many open ended questions. There were multiple writing assignments each week, so don't take this class if you aren't prepared to do a lot of writing. Also, there is a large partner project but you have the whole semester to work on it. The subject was very interesting, and the information was easy to digest.

Dr. Karnick is a great professor. She makes you work your grade so it's not going to be a fly by class. She is knowledgeable and is always there to help the student. You will learn nothing from this class. She gives way too many quizzes and she is TOUGH with grades. Even if you are an A student, you won't get an A in her class. I would recommend someone else if you are truly interested in knowing your material, coz this class is just a read and test class to be honest. (worst class during my undergrad for sure)

This class is horrid. I am an A student and I am struggling with the class. I do not recommend this class to anyone. The instructions are unclear and confusing. It is difficult to receiving clarification on assignments. Just don't take the class.

This professor is very nit-picky when it comes to exams. She will expect you to know every little detail about everything that was said in class, as well as the reading for tests. She's a very harsh grader on open ended questions. Let us out of class early a lot though, so I guess that's a plus. Nice person, but a very hard teacher. Not recommended

Very laid-back person. If you are a few days late on things and with good reason, she doesn't mind. She keeps the class engaged and keeps everyone interested by poking their brains for examples over the subject at hand. I would definitely recommend this professor. :)

Awful, I took her class online thinking it would be easy considering it was a 100 level comm class. Unfortunately there was a lot of reading and group projects! Prepare to be very busy reading if taking this class and to never know what kind of grade you have. She updated the grades maybe 4 times through the semester and never returned emails.
