I took his New Wave to Rave course and his lectures were hard to follow and unorganized. He gave us a 10 page paper worth 40% of our grade but only gave us a small paragraph of directions for what to write the paper on and then criticized what I focused on in mine (docking me marks for it). the textbooks were expensive and barely got used.

Kind and passionate about the subject. Casually, humbly references research projects of his (ie. entire book on Leonardo Vinci) and trips to historically signification places. Contrasts opinions with the textbook frequently and informatively. The notes you take in class are handed out in packages afterwards if you miss anything. Focus & study hard!

Well, you do need to pay attention in class...his little oddities such as the markers never working keep things fun (go with the flow). You DO need to study a lot, but there are no surprises and the notes he prepares are very helpful. Be in class, study outside of class, you'll be fine. Plus, he is very flexible with deadlines and gives bonus marks

This guy is a nightmare... The amount of material he expects students to memorize is unheard of, and he does a poor job of making study materials available to students. He refuses to use a lap top for presentations in class, despite the fact that his writing his illegible. Marks extremely harshly. We warned!!!

Amazing prof. He teaching style treats his students much like computers as though we are suppose to remember a lot of information. I like this because this is the way I like to learn but if you have trouble in his class, visit him during office hours. Tests are killer!!! The secret: Get HIS notes!!! and start studying AT LEAST a week in advance!!!

Perhaps an acquired taste. His prepared notes are really all you need to do well on exams. Comes across as shy, nervous and socially awkward, but really loves his material and is incredibly prepared. I loved him, some hated him...it depends on how much YOU are willing to put into the class as much as he is.
