I took this class online and it has been one of the best online-run courses I have ever taken. His instructions are clear and as long as you prepare properly for the online tests you should be able to achieve a good mark. He was also quick to answer questions For the online course there was 5 tests, and a group project. No final or midterms.

Hands down the best Prof I have ever had in the past 3 years of my university life. Very funny, and keeps your interest throughout the lectures. Fair tests. Although he posts his lectures, the examples he provides during class is what makes the material under stable. Highly would recommend!!

Lance is by far the best prof when it comes to taking a boring subject and making it accessible for people who are just there for the credit. He uses his sense of humour to make math/statistics, dare I say it, fun. Definitely an awesome guy - a professor who actually loves/is good at teaching. There's a reason he's won so many teaching awards. :)

Lance Roberts is a great professor! His lectures are very interesting and tries to relate it to us young students. He is also very willing to help students if you approach him. On the other hand, his tests are extremely hard. I found that I was studying a lot for his tests, and never did that great on them. Just be aware of that.

He is a decent prof. The group project was easy, the tests are for the most part pretty easy, except for the short answer. The major complaint would be that the lecture videos are awful. You have to dig through over an hour of video to find the one important sentence in amongst silence and "uhh"s. The course is interesting overall though.

He is a good prof. He always replies to students respectfully and in return he deserves respect for that. My only problem is that some of the questions on his tests were gaffes and had no right answer or were marked wrong. However he made up for that by allowing extra credit homework. He is very fair

Awesome professor! His lectures were engaging and organized. He keeps student's attention and is good at giving current examples of the material being taught. Lectures were funny and entertaining. Gives tough tests and makes you work for your mark but overall an awesome prof and would take another course with him.

All over the place with in class lectures, hard to know what to expect on exam. Very frustrating how its almost like an online course aswell with all the extra textbook work he expects and separate exam for textbook. Interesting class to attend with his funny personality, can make you feel a little dumb if you have a different opinion than his

2 years after taking his class, and I'm still comparing other lecturers to him. He was really inspirational, funny, quirky and really painted a picture for you. I specifically avoid online courses so I don't have to watch 5 hours of "Youtube" on Sociology a week. Of course that can get boring, so take the class instead! It's worth it!

Amazing, hilarious, crazy. Loves teaching. Never boring, if you listen. Hard tests, but fine if you take good notes from lectures and readings (show up and read the book). Sometimes a bit confusing but those bits don't really matter. Will draw attention to immature people who don't want to be there. Great course for life in general!! Dooooo it!!!!!

I took this course with dr roberts last year. The tests were very specific and some questions were definitely tricky, but this will happen on every university test. You can't expect an easy test. I definitely wouldn't say the tests were incredibly difficult. Only complaint is that lectures were somewhat hard to follow at times.

Took this course distance ed. Tests are incredibly difficult but are only worth 5% each. Group project is easy. Prof is dismissive of students' concerns and doesn't seem to care about their success. He considered class averages on tests of 66% as "doing well". Recorded lectures are the WORST. But overall, the course is interesting, prof needs work

I notice my classmates whine and complain that this is the worst prof. The tests are easy, the assignments are easy, the group project is easy. The only issue with this fellow is that his video lectures are so incredibly boring and slow. He focuses 50% of the time saying "umm" 45% of the time on some random tangent and 5% on important stuff.

Intimidating, weirdly silly - but grows on you. High expectations, high effort required. Lessons carefully planned to encourage consistent work. Prepares the course to minimize difficulties, but WILL NOT BEND to help struggling students ... You gotta work, and come prepared!!!

One of the smartest profs, extremely nice in person, and has a great sense of (sarcastic) humor. Expect to work hard in his class but also to learn a lot. Also, get over the fact that university is not a high school - you're expected to use your brain here a bit more, which some of the first years seem to have an issue with.

A+ student barely getting a 70%. 12 hours of mandatory work a week. Lectures, homework as., textbook & videos all on exam. Prof does not provide support and exam questions are not major concepts - he expects memorization of entire textbook as he feels "everything is important otherwise the authors would not have included it." Awful - do not take!!

Bad news. He is so unhelpful, will not walk you through difficult concepts as he feels it is unfair for other students. First I've heard a prof say in 6 years. Lectures are at least 1 painful hour each with a solid 15 minutes of info within each. Rambles, confusing, monotone. Avoid this class.

This professor is probably the worst prof I've ever hard, his test are too long and hard. His lectures are long and useless and they also make no sense. I would suggest never taking his class
