Comment:
Witty, classy and inspiring. I personally loved his lectures, and the way he uses humour to illustrate the history. I enjoyed all of the assignments, and the format for his tests. Careful when writing the papers to stay on point as the relatively small number of words allowed doesn't leave much room for anecdotes or straying from the criteria.

Larry is extremely knowledgable, but his lectures are quite dull and hard to follow, as he delivers information in a story-like fashion. Make sure you do all the assigned readings from the textbook and articles; his exams are tough and based off this material. Good luck.

Professor Hannant is an amazing teacher. He helped perk my interest in history and prepare me to go on to the history program at the University of Toronto. He covers the material clearly and thoroughly while making classes interesting. You will have to work for your grade, but will take so much more from it as a result.

Larry is an excellent teacher. He is incredibly knowledge and passionate about history. His seminars are done in a round table format, and you will be graded on your participation. However, Larry wont grade you harshly for incorrect answers or contributions. Simply being willing to contribute is sufficient for a good grade. An excellent prof.

Larry is a great prof. His lectures aren't super lively, but he knows the material extremely well and will answer any question thrown his way. I've taken a few classes with seminars and I found Larry's to be the most rewarding, but don't expect to get a decent grade in the seminars without doing the reading and participating. He's a good guy.

If you're shy, he comes across as unapproachable, but if you actually talk to him, he is really helpful and knows his stuff! Great teacher. Had him in 3 classes. Would totally take another class of his any day.

Larry is a really cool guy. He is not necessarily the easiest or most approachable of professors, but I loved my class with him. The reviews here had me worried about my class with him, but I really enjoyed it. If you are willing to work hard and put in effort, you will do well in Larry's class. I would absolutely take another class with him.

Larry is an incredibly intelligent man who knows history of the 20th century inside out. He is insightful and while at some points a bit dry his lectures are extremely informative. You wont have to read the textbook unless you miss a class. As long as you participate in the discussions and think outside the box you'll do great.

Such a boring class. I was so interested in this subject until the class started. All he gave was the facts, such as dates and places, but no real substance that you couldn't learn from reading a textbook. If you're going to take this class, be able to take fast notes in lecture, and make sure you attend and participate in the discussion.

Larry is a nice guy, but his lectures could sometimes verge on unbearable. Attendance not mandatory. I definitely would say I had to learn from the text on this one.The discussions were interesting but he is a hard marker + discussion content can be very difficult to read! If you study you should do okay but you'll be mainly learning on your own.

Larry is a real Prof, enough said.He expects you to listen, attend and do all the readings. If you show interest, he will show interest in you but don't expect him to babysit.Seminar is big so make sure you do your readings and pipe up when you have an opinion,he loves this. He will open your eyes, so don't expect any history channel lessons.

Yes, the classes are challenging. Yes, you will read a lot. Yes, you will be held to a high standard. You may dislike that because most of the other instructors at Kindermosun will not treat you like a functioning adult. Plans to go on and do well at university? Get prepared by taking a class (or two) with Hannant.

Not good for first year, better for advanced. We had 200 pages to read over 5 weeks. No vocabulary was reviewed and I was discouraged to ask. I was very excited and eager for this class but was quickly overwhelmed. The text was excellent, assigned readings were difficult. If you want to bring down your GPA, this is a good place to s

I read the comments before registering for his class and thought"I can do this, it can't be that hard"...but it was. However, I am pleased to have finished a course with a real professor. He knows his stuff, expects his students to know it too. He respects others opinions and demands the same. If you're willing to work, u'll get a good mark.
