He comes in looking like a scraggly homeless person; he curses constantly. He restricts you from helping or being helped by your classmates to the point of forcing you to sign off that you weren't helped at all on assignments - any Education major will tell you how detrimental this is to learning community. However, he can convey knowledge well.

Awesome guy! He has to be one of the better professors on campus! He really knows how to keep the class' attention and he really enjoys doing what he does! I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn calc and have fun doing it!

Professor Howe seems like a cold, careless man.. but one hell of a good teacher. He doesn't have much time for helping students seeing that he is the chairman of the math department, but if you pay attention in class and do the (optional) homework, there is no way Howe won't be able to teach you math.

Dr. Howe remains to be one of my favorite professors. His classes couldn't be clearer! He makes math fun with his stories. I'm not a math person, but I learned a great deal from the class and earned close to 100% on all three tests. There are no surprises on his exams. Anyone who fails this class does not belong in college.

wonderful professor in class, explains every step so you can never get lost and goes slow enough to copy everything easily. tests are really hard though, if you do bad on just one it can kill your grade. you have to actually understand the material to pass the test.

I had Prof Howe for Investments in the summer and I really liked him. He used to be a stock broker. Lots of interesting stock broker stories.Quiz every day. Exams hard. But you will learn a lot.

I had some great math profs at Rowan. It's hard to single out one, but he's definitely among the best. His depth of knowledge combined with his easy style and ability to explain difficult stuff make him an awesome teacher. I had the privilege of being taught by Larry as an undergrad and grad student. I became a math teacher partly because of him.

he always smelled like smoke and looks a bit scary but overall he is a nice guy and breaks the material down very easily so you can understand it. if you need help go to him.. but if you bomb a test you cant retake it.

I am not a math person, however, Prof. Howe was one of the best math teachers I had at Rowan. He isn't conventional in terms of his personality, however, if you pay attention, take good notes, and ask questions you will learn alot. His tests are hard, but hey this is college! As I said, I am not a math person but I understood the concepts.

He is probably the most unprofessional teacher at rowan. He always showed up stinking like cigarettes. He taught material very well though. Attendance does not count towards final grade, only 3 tests count for grade. 1st and 3rd test were easy, but 2nd was hard and brought my grade down a lot. He did fall asleep during a test. I do not suggest him.
