Really bad experience. I had to drop out of the course because the highest grade in the class was a C and he thought it was our fault. He is grumpy, boring, and just genuinely a bad teacher.

At first i loved the class but the professor is extremely grumpy and not very helpful. There is a quiz EVERY SINGLE CLASS on the reading and although they are not hard, you have to read the night before (or fail). His tests are a bit difficult but he knows a lot about communications. No playing around!

I had many classes with Dr. Lorenz during my 4 years @ Loyola. He is a Brilliant man & a GREAT professor. His History Of Journalism class is his best b/c his enthusiasm comes thru during the lectures. If you are prepared for class & if you participate in the lectures, you'll do fine.

He's a great guy. He knows a lot and he likes to point out that he has authored books. There's a lot of reading in his intro class, quizzes after every chapter, DON'T MISS THE QUIZES! His tests are kind of hard. The people and the true/false questions are the hardest. He knows so much that he sometimes forgets that a particular question wasnt cover

If your looking for a nice teacher with a great grade to go along, Lorenz is not the one! He is not a very nice guy. In a nutshell, hes grumpy and doesnt care how his students perform. He is stubborn and not accommodating. To add to the misery his tests are insanely complex. They cover way too much material and u need to know EVERYTHING!!

an obviously miserable human being who is taking out the bitterness on students. he plays favorites so if you're not one of them, good luck doing well in the class. he has a heart about as hard as a rock. but he follows his syllabus. classtime is a waste. you do most work out of class. have fun!

wow, what a grumpy old man. realy bad jokes and truly bitter toward young people. dumbest class ever - we wrote 2-3 pg essays every week on your summer or mardi gras or something ridiculous like that, nothing in class - and when he wrote stuff on them, i couldn't read it. i didn't learn anything except to not take things personal.

Extremely helpful teacher. Taking his class completely changed the way I write,in a good way. It takes about three papers (out of the 10 assigned) to understanf exactly what he wants, but after that it's gravy.

dr lorenz is a hard teacher, especially for beginning freshman. he was a sweet guy who knows a lot about what he's taking about. he challenged me and i learned so much from his class. you will benefit if you take his class...but be warned that it will take a lot of work.
