Comment:

Relied on self-study and the tutorials to get through the course, so attending the lectures were kind if a waste of time... Hes a generous marker and his tests were wicked easy, considering the questions were almost identical to the review questions.

Larry makes the class interesting by telling jokes and stories. His midterm reviews are basically what the midterms are so I recommend studying those in particular along with the textbook. If you struggle with math, review notes and textbook bc its hard to understand few of the concepts towards the end. AND he's a very generous marker :)

Comment:

Larry is.. interesting. If you struggle with math and cannot teach yourself, do not take him. However, if you can learn statistics on your own, easy A. He's more of an entertainer than teacher. But his reviews are extremely helpful for preparation. I never showed up to class or did the hw until right before the exams and always managed to do well!

Larry made this course extra difficult as his teaching style is all over the place and he doesnt go over entire concepts, yet finishes class an hour early every day. He left the bulk of the course in the last two weeks and the final included concepts he barely even skimmed over. Dont take him if you want any sort of guidance during this course!

Larry is a bit strange but hes just trying to make math interesting. Rather than focus on specific problems, hell explain things in the bigger picture. Be prepared to teach yourself from the textbook. However hes super funny, really nice, and gives you marks on test for trying.

Larry's lectures are really funny but you learn more life lessons than math lessons. He gives review for his midterms and they give you a good idea of what is going to be on the actual test. Don't skip class because you will miss out on some good stories but also get ready to learn the material on your own time for the final

Larry is hilarious. His lectures set you up to understand the readings. He doesn't go over every concept but instead makes sure that you understand the core idea and the reasoning behind it. I really enjoyed his teaching style and as long as you keep up with the reading he is awesome. He is also a very generous marker.

Confused but solid teacher, his tests are very easy and my biggest regret was only getting an A- when an A+ was more than possible with him. Won't learn much from his tutorials but he helps you out tremendously for test prep and is a lenient marker.

Larry is super helpful and always trying his best to give out good grades for everybody. His midterms are pretty easy, just study his reviews and notes. He doesn't write the final so be careful. But he gets to review it beforehand so he will tell you what is up. Textbook itself is pretty much useless expect for its examples.

I went in to MATH1106 thinking I made a huge mistake. But that changed extremely quick as Larry makes the course challenging in a way that is actually fun. He is funny, and will do his absolute best to ensure that you excel (gives you similar test questions before the test). I would highly recommend that you take this course.

Larry is nice but I left class never knowing what we covered. He'll teach one thing and talk about another but never teach you the material to understand what he even brought up in class. Once said something wouldn't be on the exam so I didn't study it, but then he put it on the exam anyway, and left bonus marks on my test when I called him out

Larry is nice guy and funny although borderline inappropriate. The beginning of the semester is a breeze because the material is easy but when it starts to get harder and the teaching comes secondary to jokes it starts to get kind of rough. If you're good at self-teaching go right on ahead but if you need more instruction stay far away.

Larry is an interesting prof, his personality is definitely a standout from others.. His teaching style can be confusing, so you may have to learn a lot of the material on your own using the textbook. The tests are all based off of the review and he is an easy marker. He did not write the final, so it was harder than the other tests.

Larry is a good guy who is very .. Interesting. Course content for stats is tough but he is a generous maker and he genuinely wants all his students to succeed. I had to teach myself a lot because he is quite confusing .. But KEEP UP and study!

People say that Larry is confusing because in his lectures he is trying not to lead you to any false conclusions about the convoluted area of statistics. He uses real life examples and reasoning to teach statistics. THIS IS NOT REALLY A MATH CLASS. All formulas are given, you just have to know how to use and interpret them. Tests are easy
