WEEKLY assignments with 7 questions each! Fair midterm (68 average) but unpredictably hard final, not sure whether he will curve the grades.

Warning! No curve at all. But he is a good porf. The cold joke is really fun. Memorize everything from the course note and you will get a good mark. His exams are just reproducing everything from course note.

Great lecturer. Knew how to make stuffunderstandable. Hilarious dry humour. Weekly assignments can be a major headache. No scale, no curve, but two thirds of the exams are directly taken either from the lecture notes or the assignments. Be prepared to write a lot in lectures. His notes are organized like a book.

Marcoux is awesome. His lectures move at a break-neck pace, but he always knows exactly how to present the information in an (eventually) understandable and exciting way. Also, he's super funny.

Let U be the set of professors that are rigorous in teaching. Let V be the set of professors that have sense of humour and make the class engaging. I just proved that the intersection of U and V is non-empty by taking his course.

Prepare to suffer intellectual deprivation after an onslaught of non-informative examples post every definition. Prepare to have an advanced class turned into series of semi-rigorous and out of place insertions where there are much more important theorems to do. Our next professor was socked at how little we covered.

Real Analysis was so fun with Marcoux! He's a really funny guy and he knows Analysis inside out. Take a course with him, work hard, and you're guaranteed to learn a lot.

great prof, and a wonderful sense of dry humour. Assignments were interesting and fair. Sometimes the boardwork in class gets a bit too much though.

Easily one of my favourite professors. On the first day, he made it clear that his background was in pure mathematics, and he wasn't very comfortable around differential equations (228 is the first ODE course). He then proceeded to rock the rest of the course, and inspired me to double major with math. Absolutely fantastic.

Marcoux has a very dry humour which might take some time to appreciate but it helps making attending more interesting. The class is quite hard and I was lost sometimes. The weekly assignments take a lot of time but a very helpful to understand the material!

He clearly did not understand the content of the course. For example, he spent a week proving a "horrible technical lemma" which was not used in the rest of the course because he realized after he proved it that it was not needed. Assignments were marginally related to lectures. Exams are pretty unpredictable.Definitely the worst analysis prof here

Clear explanations, very thorough notes, gives fair assignments and exams but makes you work hard in the course. The only complaint I have is that during the final exam he handed out apple juice and I would have preferred orange. Otherwise a great prof.

Very very good professor. His notes are like a textbook. You might not be able to keep up with what he's trying to say in class, but the notes you take are very thorough and his examples are very good. Much better analysis prof than some of his colleagues (e.g. Spronk).

The only bad thing about Professor Marcoux's class is: your fingers start to hurt from taking notes at the end of the term. He writes faster on the board than me typing.

Awesome prof. Jokes a lot in class, and really knows his stuff. Gives very fast notes, but teaches at a reasonable pace. Also easily available at 7 pm the day before the assignment is due :D And just remember: The X is silent...just like in X-Ray!
