I wish I never took this course. Professor Wilcox does her best to explain the material but its just so dense, lectures are extremely long with topics that are difficult to grasp. It should definitely not be offered as an online course. Her tests were not easy by any means, key focus on memorization as they're extremely detailed. Don't recommend.

Professor Wilcox definitely knows her subject but the way the course is set up is so difficult. Despite being an online course, it's very lecture heavy and there is a lot of material. Her multiple choice and short answer are quite tricky, down to the detail. I'd say if you don't need this course you're better off choosing another one.

Professor Wilcox is great and explains the material very clearly. The course content is straight forward but THERES SO MUCH material so beware. Dont take this class if you dont think you can sit through long lectures. Not her fault the material is the way it is, she does an incredible job though.

Why is it to damn hard to do well with the multiple choice questions on her exams? Other than that its 2 hour/1 hour long online lectures. Just memorize the entire lecture slide back to back. DO IT ! don't buy the textbook and save ur money. Skip if you can help it. this class is legit like an anatomy class

Comment:
The online lectures she gave were monotone and extremely long (1-2 hours per topic). Subject matter is boring. She only takes questions from her own slides, so don't bother buying the textbook. The exams were okay, but you have to enjoy and excel at memorization (beware of the graphs). If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have taken this course.

Her tests are extremely detailed, you have to know such specific answers to her multiple choice. Her lectures overall are interesting but she asks for specifics when it comes to studies. Her short answer are not general, must understand the concepts very well!

This course was very hard to grasp with complex topics. She did not make things easy to understand, and her lectures were long and the quality of sound was annoying. . The textbook is not needed really, she takes everything from her slides, SO STUDY THE SLIDES! The short answer was hard because she would ask about random graphs she talked about.

Honestly, one of the best Prof's I've had at York thus far. Her tests are not difficult if you study for them. I took this course as my first fully online course, and she explained everything so well and was open to questions. Seriously one of the best profs in the psych department. You will have to study to get a good mark in this class.

Very passionate, good professor and lectures are interesting. I advise you not to take this course if you're not good at chemistry/biology or if you expect it to be a bird course. I made that mistake, and even though I didn't do well, it was fully my fault. Exams are easy if you try hard and study. Fair marker.

One of the knowledgable professor. Going through her actual online lecture is important. She covers more materials online and not all of them are in the textbook. Test is challenge.

I didn't enjoy Prof Wilcox's style of teaching. She lectures on too many experiments in the textbook and expects you to know them all in detail, her voice is monotone, and her tests are ridiculously hard. Her mult choice Qs have 6-7 options each and all look the same, making it hard to pick the right answer even if u studied. Avoid her!

AMAZING instructor. The lectures are very interesting and yes there is alot of material. Final is cumulative. But all you need is lectures. LISTEN to all lectures as many times as you can because there is always something that she talks about that is not in slides. Midterms and finals are easy if you study lectures. You need to understand concepts.

Good online lectures with great slides, each is long but understandably so. Course is very heavy memorization. Midterms are an easy A+ if you just memo everything or use Qbank, however final is harder and you have to understand the material very well, as you will have up to 6 choices with "all of the above" ones. Short answers are easy from memo

Professor Wilcox is amazing. People who struggle in this class don't do the readings, and don't put effort into the course because it is an online course. Laurie tells you exactly what to study and how to do well in her course. Put in effort, and it's an easy A.

Took the online course- clear lectures, though as you might imagine, much more material is packed into a recorded lecture than a live one (talks fast, no interruptions, etc)- so it's a heavy workload. Prof was clear and at times, very funny. However, tests were very difficult- a bit diabolical in places. Memorize the textbook.

Online lectures were clear and informative but not always focused enough. volume of material covered is intense, lots of physiology concepts, and final is cumulative!!! Exams are tough and tricky, no easy marks.

Took it online, recorded lectures weekly that you listen to. Very nice prof, clear and the tests are straight from the slides so don't bother getting the book. It's a little sciency at the beginning but it gets better as you go along (the science is at a grade 10/11 level). tests are fair if you study. A/A+ definitely attainable with some effort.
