Wonderful professor. Really knows her stuff. Very interesting to listen to and really interesting classes. She knows so much, its just amazing to listen. The exams are a bit difficult, definitely expects a lot of her students, but in the end, it is all worth it. Outstanding, my favorite professor ever!

Took her Critical Film Theory course. She is intimidating, which can either scare you or keep you on your toes, making you want to do your best. I learned so much in that course. Sometimes the scarier professors get you to do your best. Try a challenge --you can learn so much in that course.

I really enjoyed Lea. Altho her exams are graded difficult and she does expect students to know a lot, she is incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant. She teaches in stories, which makes things interesting and easier to remember and learn long term. She's NOT a teacher that knows a lot and teaches @ students and expects them to remember. recommend!

She is VERY unorganized, however she expects highly organized essay exams. She is also a really difficult grader. Very hard to understand her convoluted lectures. Do not take her classes even if you think you're interested in the material - she does not strive to make it interesting in any way.

I graduated UW in 1997 and have gone on to grad school. For some reason, Lea Jacobs, continues to stick out in my mind as the worst professor I have had in my entire 20 years of schooling. She was rude, boring and never showed up to her own exams.

Probably the worst professor I ever had. Plays obvious favorites, gives seemingly arbitrary grades and then refuses to explain the rationale behind them, woefully distracted during lectures. Proof positive that writing a book or two will get you tenure, even if nobody buys it and you suck as a prof.
