Comment:

Overall a great prof. Not too much material, and no huge number of assessments. Expected to participate in weekly discussions, and assessments were all take home, including the midterm and final. The only thing is that grading is difficult and feedback can be vague. Leanne is easy to get contact with and accommodating when needed!

Comment:

She is nice but I found her grading to be overly difficult. I feel as if I made quality submissions in my papers, however I always thought I was awarded less marks than I deserved and was not provided with much feedback. Weekly discussion posts are graded on a content basis and I replied each week with a quality submission and received a 16/20.

Honestly, the content of the class itself is great and interesting, but the amount of reading is beyond belief. Not only the readings from the book are extremely dense, but on top of that she gives additional readings that are very long (and not from the book). If it wasn't for all these unnecessary extra readings it'd be an amazing course.

Gives absolute god awful feedback on your work, got the same mark on all 3 essays and the exact same feedback when 2 of the 3 essays were written very well. Don't know where her grading comes from with the discussions, you can't simply do them and expect 100% because you wont get it (i had paragraphs of detail and got 80).. avoid!!

The most AMAZING prof I have ever encountered. I have taken two courses with Leanne and would certainly recommend her to potential students. Very clear,knowledgeable and helpful to her students! The university could stand to have more prof's like her!

I hate going to class and I generally hate all my prof's - She was amazing!! She holds your attention for the whole class and I had a 2 1/2 hour class! She's very fair and helpful! Recommend her to ANYONE!

To the person below, Leanne is amazing and I received 100 percent on one of my assignments. She gives you the course on a silver platter, so she expects you to know a lot. If you are too lazy to learn the material then that is fine, receive bad mark because you deserve them. However, if you put in the work, you'll definitely succeed.

Leanne Lane is a sociology goddess, she definitely knows her stuff and in class makes this course extremely easy and understanding. She wants her students to succeed and is willing to help any way. You would think a night class is a terrible idea but I could not wait to go to class and listen to this womans knowledge. HIGHLY recommended

Leanne is an amazing teacher. I took her night class and could not wait to go to each class. So interesting. She told us what long answer question was going to be on the midterm, and told us 2 of the 3 parts of the long answer on the final. Definitely recommended.

Loved her. She is very passionate about the material she teaches, and you can tell she really loves her job. She's funny and makes class enjoyable. However, she marks her midterm,papers&final fairly hard. A good mark in her eyes isn't higher then a 75% and if it happens, its rare! Pleasant lady though, and I looked forward to her class every week!

I took the night class with her and there were nights where I wish the class was longer than 2.5 hours! She is so entertaining. Her stories are hilarious! I love her. Her notes are great and she gives you the long answer questions that are on the mid-term and final throughout the semester. I would recommend this professor to everyone!

Really interesting and funny! Made me laugh so much. Pretty easy marker, except the final exam was much harder than the rest of the course. Submit your paper early, you'll do better!
