Dr. Snaples is a once-in-a-lifetime history professor. I took both Hist1301 and hist1302 with him and made A's in both because all you have to do is listen to his lectures and take good notes- I never even touched the textbook. His lectures are awesome and he is a great orator. He is merciful to hardworking students and offers extra credit.

After an 8 year hiatus from college, I decided to come back to finish my core. I took Dr Snaples for HIST 1301 as an online course after reading his reviews on here and I'm so glad I did. He's challenging but, as long as you do your work (plus READ the chapters & STUDY), you'll pass! Oh, and he gives SUPER easy extra credit! I got almost 20 points!

The most amazing professor I've taken. I had him for HIST 1301 by chance but made sure I took him again for 1302. His lectures were by far the most fascinating I've ever had the pleasure to attend. He makes history interesting. He truly cares about his students. If you are able to take him, DO.

As long as you study you will pass easily. One paper over a book of your choice from the booklist. Four tests total including final, from lecture and reading chapters. Extra credit opportunities available. Passed with an A after getting used to his teaching style.

Took his online summer course. He is a wonderful professor. Even with the online class you can tell his love for History. But this course was hard! But that is mostly because it was a summer course. Lots of reading, quizzes and tests. As long as you do the work you will do fine. I would def take him on campus though.

Need your book. Need to show up to class. You have to take notes for his lecture. This is what he bases his tests off of. You do need to read your chapters. He gets questions for the test from the book as well. He is great at what he does, and you will learn a lot! Highly recommended.

I think this class is fairly easy, but the tests can hurt you. The first one is VERY difficult, so make sure you study for it. There's a discussion post about every other week and those are fairly simple. Also, there's a weekly 5 question quiz that - if you read the chapter - is not too bad. He's a really nice guy and will help you if you need it!

Other ratings say he ruins your GPA unfortunately he does, my four point O is toast. He's a great teacher, but tough grader. He's kind and willing to answer questions, but doesn't give you much wiggle room. There will be random questions from the book on the test that he doesn't go over. He gives you the grade he wants not exactly the one you wor

Think history is boring? Well his lectures are captivating, he's obviously passionate about history. Make sure to take good notes for weekly quizzes. Only 3 exams which includes the final, 2 essays that are pretty simple and easy. Good professor to take if you dont like learning history

I heard positive review about this professor and they were right. he was amazing and to think I was bad at history. he made me think differently by the way he taught it. Sure his class required alot of reading but it doesn't have to be from a text book. any source to history will work. if you learn better from a story-telling manner, then take him.

Lots and Lots of reading. A few discussion boards, three exams, chapter quizes and one writing assignment. You will read a chapter and then take a 5 question - 5 minute quiz. Take lots of notes for his test. I would take his class again.

Seriously, one of my favorite professors by far. I heard good things about him before taking his class and they weren't wrong. Normally an all short answer test would be hard but the way he gives his lectures it's pretty spot on with the tests. Take good notes and read the chapters (just an overview is good) and you'll do great. Sad it ended.

Says you need no book; you do-he tests over material not covered in class. Tests are short answer, so you better take notes. This is all fine, except that his method of grading papers is arbitrary and not specified. He also doesn't read them thoroughly. You can get an A, but there's too much seemingly random chance involved for me to recommend him.

LOVED HIM. His lectures are more like him telling a story, hes very interesting and easy to understand. He takes a quiz every Monday about the past lectures the week before. easy quizzes- as long as you were in class you will make an a. only has 3 tests and he uses the same quiz questions on his tests. super easy as long as you go to class!:)

I loved him. I am an A student, but made a B in his class. His tests are fill in the blank, so you learn the material. Don't take him if you are looking for a blow off class. You MUST attend class. DO take him if you want to learn in a story telling fashion. I was so sad to see the class end. Favorite professor by far. I took him for Hist 1 and 2.

Isn't the easiest teacher, but if you show up and pay attention to events and people you will be fine. His test are open ended so you have some wiggle room but you will need to study and ready from the book a little to get an A on his tests.
