Taking my second course with Len after a peer recommended him. He's a very straightforward (unless he's doing magic tricks) teacher who explains concepts using several different approaches to make sure you understand the material. He'll sometimes try to trick you in class discussions but does it to make sure you're thinking about your answers.

I deeply feel grateful to have Dr. Millis for my first biology instructor. Very friendly. When I asked for help, he was always happy to explain. Screwed up on my midterm, he went over my exam thoroughly again and gave me some advice. I would say his exam questions are difficult. Study coursepack and go to class. It really helps if you attend class.

Makes sure you understand the answers you give him, and are not just saying the first thing that comes to your mind. Makes you realize if you actually know your stuff. Covers the most important topics in class to give you a strong base for the exams, however the rest you have to study on your own. He pretty much writes the exam, similar to quizzes

He goes over the material but he does it in so much detail that sometimes it gets confusing. If you want a short exact answer then narrow down your questions. He's nice, very helpful, and quizzes are straightforward. Important to UNDERSTAND the stuff and read the material. Having him again in the future, and happy about it!

Dr. Millis is an excellent instructor. Those who get low marks do not study in which case they shouldn't be suprised nor blame Len. It is true that his quizzes are challenging, you must understand concepts, but the man give out worksheets to prepare the class for the quizzes. Really approachable and LOVES teaching Bio. Great disposition.

Len has been around for a long time and it shows in his methods. he knows exactly how to trim the useless and make clear the important. we had a sub for a week and she was aweful. really showed us just how good len was compared to the dept head of bio! very study intensive course but if you need a b-sci this is your best bet.

This guy is the worst. He gives out quizzes and marks super hard. Average mark in my class is 11/20. I have 92% average and i got 11/20. Other students say he is tough too. I know one girl who got a C- with millis and A with shasma. I took a W on my record--

I took bio with Mr. Millis almost 2 years ago and have never found anyone that remotely compares to how awesome this guy is. He is a wicked teacher and an even better person. He makes you want to go to class and do your best. He is friggin hilarious and never makes anyone feel stupid for asking questions. Always a pleasure to see around school!

Len Millis is a very funny man, but of course a wonderful teacher as well. His quizzes are based primarily on the bio notes booklet, so just study that and you'll do fine. Quizzes are fairly easy, as long as you understand the concepts. Funny, Helpful, Clear, Friendly. Good teacher, and someone said he's retiring?!?! Nooo.... :(

Great prof,funny guy,does magic tricks! Doesn't tell you what you don't need to know, always in lab to help. Always avail,doesn't ramble,explains things very clearly.Marks pretty fairly.Too bad he is retiring,one of the longest running profs in the school,what a huge loss to Douglas College for not renewing his contract.Thanks Len, YOU ROCK!
