He is a math expert. He teaches at an extremely fast pace and is difficult to follow. The textbook is a must, because you will use it in class to follow lessons, as well as for homework (ALOT). The textbook is also hard to understand, so you really need to work for your grade. If you can avoid taking him, than do so, but if be prepared to WORK!

There are many reviews that show that he is a tough grader. But honestly, it's not impossible to get an A in the class, he gives quizzes every two weeks, homework every class and one final. Even though you don't do well on the quizzes and homework, there's a chance to receive and A in his class which is to get 80% or above on the final.

His book makes zero sense and the homework will have you begging for mercy. This is coming from a guy who managed to get an A in the class. He is truly a nice person as well as a genius but a flat out terrible teacher.

Only take this class if you have taken calc before in high school, otherwise, it would be hard to pass. He moves very fast and did a lot of calc 2 in calc 1. His textbook is a mess and very difficult to work through for the hw, but it just takes time and LOTS of patience. HW is graded, but quizzes are very fair and he gave extra credit classes.

Professor Gerber's class was very tough. On the first day, there were 35-40 students in the room, but by the end only about 8 students were in the class because the rest dropped. He's demanding, but I would take him again because he helps you grow as a student by challenging you. He values hard work and I recommend going to see him in his office!

Honestly, although Gerber is quiet confusing at times, he truly is not as bad of a professor as the other comments make out to be. Rather he has quiet an interesting method of teaching, which if one doesn' get, they could simply learn themselves as it is not that hard. I would recommend his class. However, if you not willing to do work, you shouldn

He makes the math way more difficult than it has to be. You can barely understand him. He doesn't make you feel comfortable to ask questions. His teaching techniques are horrible, he moves so quick, very hard to keep up with and understand. He doesn't throughly explain things. He makes it very difficult to do well.

He's one of the harder teachers I had. He wrote his own book and makes you use it in every class. There are mistakes in the book and he makes a lot of mistakes in class. Wants the work to be done his way and only his way. If you do it a different way he calls it bad math. Also sit very close to the classroom because he talks very softly.

As I write this his grade is a 1.8, which is honestly a little to high. In all seriousness I took this class it being my first exposure to calculus. His teaching and grading criteria were completely ridiculous. Homework was heavy and he makes you buy his own textbook riddled with mistakes, bad practice problems and poorly written. Don't take!

One of the worst professors ever. Unless you're ready to put in 6/7 hours everyday, don't bother with him. Lectures are useless, there's a lot of homework which is mostly busy work because they aren't like what's on the exam. The review session before test-day is essentially your only saving grace, things he mentions there are what's on the exams.

Honest comment: This isn't an easy class, but it's not impossible. The quizzes (6) are easy as long as you go over notes and the text. For the final hang on to the quizzes. (He lets you know what is most likely to appear on it) I dedicated at least 3 hours to do hw and days to go over quiz sections, but it paid off: A Be patient reading the text

If you're in pharmacy and have him then drop/change IMMEDIATELY. worst case scenario, withdraw entirely and take it later because he will ruin gpas. it doesnt matter if youve taken stats before it wont work. hes extremely quiet, grades harshly, doesn't teach well, and only counts the two exams

American Horror Story: Leon Gerber's Math Classes. Beware. Switch out. FAST. LEAVE. FLEE. Doesn't even give you a syllabus. You're just left dazed, depressed and confused. Also, the homework doesn't even make sense and he's never able to solve it either BUT HE WILL STILL GRADE IT. RUN FAR AWAY.

AVOID THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS! He is very unclear and doesn't explain things very well. Lectures the entire class time and gets mad when you don't understand a problem. If you see you have him next semester, switch out of that class immediately.

He honestly isn't that bad. Yes, you will most likely struggle at the beginning, but the main thing that matters is how you do on the final. If you keep the tests you take & study your mistakes from those, its easy to get an A on final. Your final grade is always within 10 pts of your final, even if you have a F, you have great chance to get A or B

I am a math major, and he is by far the hardest math professor that I have ever taken. AVOID at all costs. His textbook is AWFUL and his grading criteria is very strange. It does NOT matter if you get As or even take all of the homework and tests. The ONLY thing that matters is the final. I only got a B because I worked my butt off for final.

If you took calc in high school the class will be pretty simple. Not an easy A but if you do all your HW with some effort, you should be fine. Get an A on the final and you will get an A for the course!! This class is not for lazy people, but it is worth it.
