A great storyteller, interesting course material, but not a whole lot of teaching.. We studied many artists, techniques and concepts. I feel that she did a poor job at explaining / teaching the goal / advantage of video art as a medium (the concept / process is more important than final polish), so you either figure it out yourself or floundered..

Should not be teaching when she herself is not even interested and would rather be elsewhere. Usually left the TA to teach the technical stuff and disappeared during classes. Rude and critical at the smallest things of a student's work during critiques and she's not even majored in design so she wouldn't know anything even if it hit her in the face

Lila was a great professor and I thoroughly enjoyed this class, especially the way she 'taught' it. She never talked AT the class; instead every 'lecture' was a discussion and students had the opportunity to share ideas and expand upon the course reading material or news events of the day. Overall very interesting class. Do all the assignments tho!

Not a very good experience. She picks her pets and everyone else just sort of watches in disbelief. I cringe at Lila.

Not a great experience at all, unavailable, and are to talk to. She wouldn't even make it on time or at all for my booked meetings. It felt like her personal work was More important that being teacher.

So far I think she's amazing. She's attempting to challenge students by bringing forth relevant topics in Media and Communication. Her approach is anything but dry and her own work and research is really interesting. The readings are great and she's willing to compromise on assignments if you propose intelligent alternatives.

Nice to see i wasn't the only student Lila Pine hunted and gunned for,I found i was being judged from the first moment of class. She has zero background in Design its not her field.Hence i don't know how she is qualified to teach it.She is the new media program director i ended up switching schools Mostly to get away from her verbal abuse.

Fact: Faculty hired a 1-year alumni, who they regarded as "the type of student [they] want to teach", to help judge and weed out applications/portfolios for students they don't want to teach. Fact: A previous student lead a mini-rebellion that gathered reams of at-present student accounts of Lila and husband/partner-in-crime incompetence. Fa

Nice to see that I am not the only student that thought she was the worst teacher, besides Emil of course, and yes I did get on her bad side which meant 4 years of having to defend every breath I took! I became a teacher so other students wouldn't have to suffer the way I did. Lila watch out, i'm coming after your job!

Wow, she is the absolute worst teacher I ever had in my life and I have had some bad ones. She is all about favouritism and thinks she is amazing even though she is not. A computer could do a better job then her. And be aware that if you disagree with her you are doomed in her class, you will be screwed and she will love watching you suffer.

Ultra-ignorant. This is amplified by her arrogance. And this is the worst combo because she's even ignorant to her arrogance. No focus, no enthusiasm. Just sucking off the system.
