I enrolled in the Honors Florence Study Abroad program hosted by Dr. Halpern and it was great. She is an extremely helpful and knowledgeable professor in her field and I could not have asked for a better host to this program. The program itself was very intense in terms of academics and touring. However, her helpful, upbeat attitude made it a blast

If you don't want to memorize over a hundred slides of information don't take this class. You will hate your life before the exams because it is very difficult to memorize that much information. She is a fair grader and knows her stuff but the tests aren't a good reflection of your knowledge in the class.

strict attendance policy but really easy class. if you can memorize things (lots of things), then youre good. dont bother reading the book. she tells you everything youll need to know for the test, but she struggles to get her thoughts out and it can get pretty annoying. overall easy class though.

I took this class because I need an elective and had enjoyed art history in high school. Do NOT take her! It takes her about 20 minutes to make a point. Your papers are about the same piece throughout the semester, so pick something you like. Two of the papers were absolutely pointless.

alot of slides to memorize, but if you memorize them, you will Ace all your six quizzes which are 50 pts each. you get two exams which involves alot of writing, it's not that hard really. she does check attendence but i dont think she'll take points off x]

she's very strict on grading papers and essays. seems to show favoritism with the art majors. lectures are passionate but she struggles with thoughts and words to the point where its distracting. if you have a good memory, good writing skills, and a good habit of going to class then you should be ok

She is very smart and knows what she is talking about but she has a strict attendance and she is a really hard grader. She is NOT quick to hand out A's. Reading the book is a waste of time. Slide quizzes every other week on about 100 slides and you need to know 12 things for each slide.

This woman is so annoying and not very knowledgeable! If you take this class, get ready to learn a very little about the history of any of the pieces of art, and just learn about color, shadow,line, etc. I should've saved my money and just read the text book (and would've learned a ton more!)

Linda was one of the nicest professors i've had so far and she did a great job at teaching the class catered to not just art majors, but any major. Tests were fairly challenging but very manageable if you put effort into studying. Highly recommended!

she really knows what she's talking about and i learned a lot from this class. tests are kinda on the hard side, but as long as you go to class and take good notes, you'll do okay. only 2 papers and 3 small papers, so no a lot of outside work.
