Colonel Ingram is the type of professor that makes you want to fall asleep or play Family Feud on your computer in his class. His lectures are so boring that the hour and twenty minutes feels like it's been four hours. His lectures aren't even relevant to the topic at hand, and basically spends the whole class period on how to write a paper.

I LOVED Col. Ingram! Take 5 mins to go talk to him and introduce yourself it'll go a long way! There is a TON of writing (I've done 17 pages for 1 exam, but all short essays). But if you ask for an extension ahead of time he'll give it to you no problem. If you don't mind writing you'll definitely learn a lot from him. Easy A if you put in effort

Outstanding professor. I had him for three polt science classes from 2007-2011 as part of a minor. Anticipate long hours, and lot of works. Also, a lot of people say the Col. is a "hard" teacher. He isn't. All exams are take home, so you 100% control your own fate. No risk of studying the wrong chapter. Good luck!

Took 403 and 797 w/ him. As a retired Army Col. and Harvard PhD, his experience and deriving perspectives are unmatched by any other POLT professor. Definitely a lot of reading, writing and research but it's worth it if you actually want to remember and apply what you study. Every POLT major should take at least one class w/ him before graduating.

If you like tons of readings, lots of essays and quizzes and uninformative lectures from a pompous teacher who likes to show his students that he's smarter than them, then this is the professor for you. A tough grader who puts comments on your papers that are unintelligible and impossible to decipher due to his handwriting and doesn't post grades.

Good professor, at first I was hesitant but he's grows on you as the semester goes along. He does care more about student growth so if you are stressed and have a lot going on he'll be willing to give extensions when asked for. He assigns about five essays at a time with 20 pages of reading each. All powerpoint are online.

Love this man. He's a vet and has awesome stories. I'm a procrastinator and that was my downfall. Work wasn't particularity difficult but reading is required. DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE. I pulled two all nighters for one take home and I still barely made it. He's really understanding with deadlines as long as students don't abuse it.

This guy will give you the works for sure but you'll learn so much information it'll come pouring out your ears. Tons of reading and insanely long tests and quizzes. If you think you're going to pull an all nighter and do the paper in one day please don't. You won't survive it I guarentee but keep up with it little by little and you'll make it.

Horrible teacher... Took this class as a senior at the 400 level yet it felt it was at the 700 level. It was not a writing intensive course, however I spent 10+ hours writing for every take-home exam. Was really unpleased with how he ran his class.... Quizzes every day and absurd exams make this class even more dreadful.

For my time at UNH I took 3 Ingram classes, two in 1 semester. He works you hard but you will learn. He is fair if something comes up and you need that extension, don't hesitate to ask. Keep up the essays as you read and you will do very well..I would 100% recommend him to polt students! Great man who will teach you a thing or two!

Brilliant professor but still one of the most difficult classes i've taken here. If you approach him he will go to the ends of the earth to help you. Always allows extensions on papers. Everything is take home exams, which are long writing papers. Highly recommend.

Colonel is a great professor who is really understanding and I appreciate that the class is more of a conversation than lecture. He has a dry sense of humor that I appreciate. Although the take home exams are long and really tough he gives you time to do them and you can have your laptop during class. Its one of the toughest poli sci but he's great

Ingram is a great professor; super knowledgable and experienced. He knows what he is talking about. But if you're not a PoliSci major I wouldn't take the class - it's a lot of work.

Ingram is an amazing professor & cares about his students. However, his class is just plain excruciating because of the workload. Essentially, he assigns weekly take-home quizzes that can reach up to 10-15 pages single spaced. Plus he assigns four take-home exams that are 20-30+ pages each single spaced as well.

The Colonel is a highly accomplished individual, and you will benefit greatly from his perspectives. Personality wise, he is a fantastic guy. However, the workload for his writing-intensive classes is borderline sadistic. Do not take this class unless you are prepared to spend upwards of 15 hours per week outside of class on his assignments alone.

Colonel Ingram is my all time favorite professor! Took him over 7 years ago and had to pop back on here and check out if he is still teaching. He's a caring man who genuinely takes interest in his students (who try). Go to class, put in effort, expand your world. Awesome professor! I took 1 class with him then liked him so much I took 5 more.

This man made me seriously consider changing my major from political science to something else. I have never seen anyone push their own opinions as hard fact, while disputing the work of presidential scholars. I found the class to be boring and a waste of time. I did not learn anything, sadly.
