Anderson has been my least favorite professor so far at WM. She barely lectures which means none of the material that you absolutely NEED to know for the midterm is taught in class. All you do in class is do experiments. It sounds fun but it's hard to ever learn anything from that. You have to read the book and stuff, but she doesnt make that clear

Not too difficult but if you want an A I highly recommend studying a lot for the MT. Study ALL of the material and try to understand the textbook's analysis of results not just memorize math/game theory. Project and final paper aren't hard so strive to get an A on the MT. She is very nice, and the class is fun. Prepares you well for game theory.

ECON380 is not a tough class, but the midterm and final paper take up a great percentage of your final grade. The class is fun, all you need to do is to participate in the experiments.

Tests are difficult, but only in that the questions are original and not regurgitating practice questions. If you study and fully understand the concepts you'll do fine. Lectures move kind of slow and are based around playing games. Going to the class isn't very helpful unless you have questions or really can't understand the book.

Before Spring Break, there is minimal work and no class half the time. After that, you work on a Final Paper that determines your grade for the course (66%). If you are an independent student, you'll love this class. Start work on your paper early and you'll be fine. I'd recommend taking some econometrics courses prior to this class.

She's just too harsh a grader. What I learned from her lectures and experiments are no match with the exam questions. The exam questions are just way too difficult than the practice problems on the textbook. And she never explains those practice problems. A midterm and a final account for too large a proportion of the grade for the entire course.

Enthusiastic and clear professor. This class really just needs you to show up and participate in the experiments, nothing bad about it. Tests are relatively easy; didn't study more than an hour for each and A' ed both times. Just end paper around 8-10 pages.

Honestly, I loved this class. Not difficult, although the tests are long and very VERY thorough. If you paid attention in class there's no reason why you should fail. No reason to get the textbook, she puts the readings online. You'll get paid! She's very charming, and has a passing resemblance to Laura Linney.

Highly respected in her field, fun hands-on classes, all around a good time. Tests are TOUGH, which comes as a surprise to some since classes are so laid back, but do the readings and do a bunch of practice problems and you'll be fine.

Excellent class with the most underrated professor at William and Mary. We recruited students as subjects for several experiments, ran the experiments, compiled data, and wrote papers analyzing the data. Learned a ton about higher-level research in a fun environment.

HORRIBLE CLASS, AVOID. Tests are ridiculously hard, textbook is full of useless materials. Class itself is easy, all we do in class is experiment and solvable problem. But wait till the exam and you will know how hard it is. 3 questions worth 100 points, I have never seen any tests like hers.

I'd wager that the majority of the negative reviews below are from students who were expecting a blowoff class due to the laid back nature of the class. Rather than wasting your time lecturing on exam material that can easily be learned from the book, Anderson runs and exposes you to cool experiments in a field in which she is a leading researcher.

Avoid this professor. She takes what should be a great class and just refuses to teach it. Classes consist of playing games and flying through basic powerpoint notes. Exams are unreasonable, and she refused to talk to me about grading after I took the exams. Seriously, do not take this professor.

I will give Prof. Anderson credit for loving her subject; however, class lectures make the material seem simpler than do the exams. Know the book backwards and forwards. Do all of the practice probs, not just those she assigns to prepare for the exams because she tests your ability to apply the material to brand-new problems.

Anderson is excellent at what she does. You have to actually learn game theory instead of repeating stuff from problem sets earlier in the semester. Definitely in the top 3 most rewarding ECON classes I took in all of my time at WM. If you don't do the work or try hard to get the material she will make fun of you/grade you poorly, which some fin

many people will grimace when you say you are in her class. in class she's fine, but when it comes to tests and graded assignements, a monster unleashes. tests are not what she teaches in class and a very strict grader who does not understand what objective means. avoid if possible

granted the class isn't over yet, but she is really nice and personable. i've been told she has a bad rep, but that is completely unfounded. really nice and helps you to understand the concept. tests are easy if you do the homework - duh. i like her. i'd definately take another class with her

easy material, but 1/2 of the exam has nothing to do with slides or book material. class average on final was a 60% out of 100%---- horrible for a senior level class. could have been a good class, wait to take in grad school or with another professor

I highly recommend professor Andreson; her clases are interesting and very interactive. Almost every class has an interacive game with the opportunity to win cash. I recommend her classes to anyone who will take them seriously; if you will not keep up with assignmens or readings, take another class. Her classes are for serious students.
