Tutorials work really well. Lisa was very clear on what she expected in the exams. The grading scheme was great (final can replace midterms) and the final was very fair.

It was Lisa's first time teaching chem 213, so it was pretty rough. The notes are awful, her writing is impossible, the tutorials were the only reason I partially knew what was going on. Ran out of time on the midterms, but Lisa made your final exam grade replace the lecture grade if better, so that was a lifesaver! The final exam was very fair.

Things didn't start out great, but Lisa eventually got the hang of things. Midterms and final were fair, pretty much exactly what previous years were but she shortened them which was nice. She's also helpful during office hours, and tutorials are life saviours.

This class should not be difficult if given the right instruction. Prof was in her own world and read straight from the slides. Tutorials are very helpful, so pay attention to those, and go prepared with questions to get the most out of it. Lectures were unhelpful unless she went over specific examples.

She always seemed like she had no idea what was going on. Tests were already hard to complete in the amount of time given, and she would make it worse by talking at you for the first few minutes.

She's awful at teaching spectroscopy. It seems like she doesnt even understand what she is teaching half the time. During midterms she spends half the time talking at you while you're trying to focus, prepare to run out of time on both midterms. Speaks to students very rudely when questions are asked.

I've heard she's great for other courses but she is truly dismal at teaching spectroscopy. Often admits that she doesn't fully understand her own (read: the last professor's) example questions. My tutorial TA is the only reason anything makes sense. Also prepare to run out of time on the first midterm.

Lisa is adorable!! I enjoyed her lectures a lot. She may be seem like a Prof. Trelawney but when it comes to marking she's a total Prof. Snape...she expects you to spell out every detail, even those acquired in previous courses at a basic level of chemistry (1+1=2). That is where I lost my exam marks. Otherwise she is fantastic!

Wastes an inordinate amount of paper, and is unwilling to post notes on the internet after the classes. Lacks clarity and doesn't explain things with much depth

tests were fairly tricky, but only because her notes were very scattered.gives prettygood skeleton notes butadds stuffthat seems trivial, but is actually testable material.her explanations of concepts during class would be awful, but then later she would clear it up very well after. Tip: rewrite notes where concepts are present to help understand.

She's very nice and likable. I found her teaching style to be confusing though. Course-notes were well intended, but just ended up confusing me. Overall, I enjoyed her class.

Nice enough, but who isn't nice? And who likes being called nice? I do it out of spite, bc she gives us huge font, fill in the blanks handouts that we fill in very slowly. She's a paper waster. info in the handouts come right out of the 2nd year te
