Dr. Sinclair is a great Prof, especially in this specific course. Going to class is mandatory, as you are awarded marks for participating in Iclicker polls. You can tell Dr. Sinclair really cares about the topic and ensures fairness for her students. Tests are mostly multiple choice. I would take this class with her again!

Lisa was a very nice prof and cares about what she teaches. She was open for discussions. She went through slides fairly quickly, but most of the material was straight from the textbook.

Prof Sinclair is the worst prof I have had at the u of w. She posted all textbook chapters online because the book was not out yet and on the LAST DAY OF CLASSES she assigned 4 chapters out of the newly published textbook requiring us to pay $130 for 4 chapters.

Honestly, really annoying. At the beginning of the term she says the class lectures won't be the same as the textbook but they pretty much are word for word. She leaves important things out of the posted notes solely because she wants people to come to class, but it's all in the textbook.

She is a good prof who knows her material. She is a pretty decent lecturer and explains things so everyone can understand. Tests are fairly easy and all multiple choice. She does leave some information out of her slides so that people come to class. You must read your textbook as she does not go over everything in lecture!

Great communication, accessible outside of class, very supportive. Sinclair is fantastic at integrating important info often left out of psychology texts. Ensures all diversities are acknowledged and this is essential for sex and gender. Puts other psych courses to shame. Study the text, but also attend her awesome lectures! Quality education here!

Get ready to work! Sinclair makes sure you get as much as you possibly can from her class which is amazing. Lots of quick papers and quizzes and tons of reading. Although she's tough she's also understanding and willing to work with you. If you're in school to actually learn, you're looking into the right prof.

i took social psych with her and it was difficult to follow lectures as she would talk very fast and often didn't explain things. even though slides were posted after class not everything would be on it so if you missed notes in class you wouldn't necessarily have them after class either. tests are weighed very heavy.

Comment:
To be fair intro psych covers a ton of ground so she can't go into much detail on things, but some modules felt rushed. When asked questions outside of the lesson plan or of her areas of expertise, she often flounders. That said, very approachable and top-notch turnaround time for answering emails. Squeaky voice.

the class wasn't really what I was expecting, but she was a great teacher. great to talk to outside of class and super helpful. tests are pretty tough-- read the textbook! her tests are about 50/50 notes and text. I would definitely take a class with her again. she teaches pretty much right from her notes so you don't need to come to class.

Professor Sinclair teaches from Powerpoint Slides which closely follow the textbook, but sometimes include additional information. Slides only posted a day or two before classes. Attendance mandatory; incorporated into final mark. Helpful & understanding of life situations. Read the textbook and the slides as both are tested. Personable, fair.

The course is not too hard if you attend classes and take the time to read the textbook. The lectures and explanations on some topics were not as clear as they should have been, but it can be compensated by reading your textbook at home. The Prof. knows to appreciate effort and always willing to help. 100% Recommend taking her class.

I went through a hard time this year and had to miss a bunch of class and she was very accommodating and understanding and said she would alter my participation mark if it came down to it. She loved to do in-class demos with the i-clickers in class which were always fun, they definitely broke up the lectures nicely.
