Great professor! very easy class. mandatory attendance. as long as you study for the midterm, you should do fine. NO HOMEWORK!! You can still take this class even though English is not your native language because the final acting project, you only need to say 1 word or 1 sentence, plus a short paper. stress free! highly recommend!

Take this acting class. Lots of group improv, solo work and some reading of plays. She works with all levels of actors and gives them respect and encouragement (show up and know your lines).

This was a great class. Liz really cares about everyone in the class and wants you to pass. She is very clear about what will be on the tests and as long as you pay attention in class you'll pass.

This acting class is great. She allows people to go at their own pace and trust their instincts. A lot of what we learned in class I will definitely use outside of class (like for job interviews). She is a very knowledgable acting teacher and wants students to succeed.

This class helped me understand theatre as an art form. We read a bunch of plays and talked about them as productions and as literature. You get to talk to other people in class as you explore the different plays. Liz knows a lot about theatre and also helps connect this GE class to stuff outside of college.

Your grade is composed of: 100 points for pop quizzes, 100 points for midterm, 100 points for outside play review, 100 points for final essay, 100 points for final group performance. There are no +/- grades. She generally is an an easy to fair grader if you actually put in thought in your writings. No extra credit.

Liz Stimson is an amazing instructor. I took her Theatre Appreciation class, and she was very encouraging, knowledgeable, kind and incredibly talented. If you're interested in theatre or acting, I highly recommend this course or working with her in some capacity.

Easy A, but pure waste of time. You'll learn about the production of plays, but nothing important. Most useless class I have ever taken.

The class is an easy A, but it's not for STEM minded people who want to learn facts or understand concepts. It's more performance-based than fact-based. If that's your thing, take her class! But if you're like me, take a different GE. I honestly felt like I was wasting my time here and not learning anything important.

Liz is very passionate about what she does and does not tolerate cell phone use. She's nice and understanding as well. The class overall was fairly easy, but it required a bit more effort than I would like for a GE course. Had to go see a play on our own time and write a review, and perform a scene from a play with effort. Still easy A though.

She is an amazing professor. She's very compelling and effervescent. She is an amazing professor who understands theatre through and through. She drops your lowest quiz. She was also very empathetic to those who had outside difficulties. She is caring and supportive of everybody, and she has no favourites and supports all of her students equally!:)

Liz is one of the chillest professors I've had at De Anza. She's so passionate about the Theatre which makes the class so engaging and fun. I told her I couldn't afford the book and she let me borrow her book for the whole quarter. Seriously -- the kindest, funniest, most inspirational, and caring professor I've had. She wants you to pass!

Best theatre class, especially if you take it for GE. She is a really fun teacher, and you wont doze off in class. Has group project of enacting a play, not necessarily means you are an actor. You can be producer, director, set designer, etc. A really fun project. Has to watch one play outside and write a review, but it was easy A. Tests are easy

Taking her for 20B this winter! As always Liz is a gem! You can approach her about ANYTHING and she is always willing to help you out. Gives excellent feedback on your monologues and scenes and knows the stress college can bring so does everything she can to make you feel comfortable. I recommend her b/c the class helps you loosen up and have fun.

I took her for theatre1 and I'm taking her acting courses for my major. she's as always a sweetheart. Very loving and you can talk to her about more than just the curriculum. You do one monologue and one scene with a partner for your final . This class has a supportive environment and isn't judgmental at all which makes it so incredible. Recommend!

Easy A. She practically handed out 100% on papers assuming you have minimal grammar mistakes and met the page requirement. There is a group project but we all go graded individually so that was great. Most of the vocabulary words you need to memorize for midtermfinal are common sense.

Pretty good class. Ms. Stimson really cares for her students and really helps you on your monologues. Class is an Easy A if you do the required assignments. You are also required to watch 2 plays and write a report, So be prepared to spend a little extra money on this class. What is also good about this class is group activities that is really fun.
