UGH! i felt like unicorns died every time i listened to his lectures! WORST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN! i do great in school, i LOVE art, but i had to drop this class because i was doing terribly in it! he drawls on FOREVER & i didn't understand a word of it or a single concept! turned out to be a super expensive class! so not worth it for my minor!

Lon's a really good professor. Teaches you everything you need to know about photoshop (and even a few tricks here and there) and is always willing to help. Gives you lots of in-class working time and is always there for when you need help with something. Knows a lot about photography and likes to tell really random jokes-lol. Wish he'd teach 339..

The work is easy but you have to spend a long time developing film and making prints. Does choose favorites although I'm getting a B. I'm not a fav. Lectures are extremely boring, and he loves to do them. Hardly any work time. Nice guy though, but sometimes talks down to girls.

Don't listen to all the bad comments, those people just never took art classes in which you didn't get an automatic A. As someone who is great at procrastinating, let me tell you that Lon just wants you to work up to your potential. In the real world, photography is subjective. get over it. He's always willing to help, and you will learn a lot!

Lon is an amazing professor. I took both photo 1 and 2 with him and got way more out of the class than I ever could have expected. He is honest and tough with his critiques, but it forces you to take your work to another level. Great Class!! If you have any photography interests at all...take a class with Lon.

Lon was a GREAT prof! He explains everything really good in terms that help his students understand, he gives step-by-step directions for everything, and critiques your work well. He's so funny too! (with all his cheesy/bad jokes :P) I can't wait to take his 239 class!

Loved this class...he challenges your abilities as a photographer, artist, and person. Lectures werent fantastic at all, but I cant wait to take photo 2. If your take photo 1, take it with a buddy and share books...you wont use it much at all. He is an amazing artist and I think we can learn alot from him.

Explains Photoshop great.Very honest in critiques and will let you know where your work is lacking.If you are used to receiving A's, understand that your other teachers were taking it easy on you, and he will let you know that just because photography is your "life" doesnt mean you are perfect at it and cant improve.

Yeah, Lon is kind of a hard grader, but he is my favorite teacher from this school. He grades hard to push you to do better work, which pisses you off at first, but really benefits you in the end. I wouldn't want any other teacher compared to Lon. He's the kind of teacher you can be friends with, as well.

Lon is a really neat guy. A little different at times but that's what I like about him. He is very smart and knows his stuff. Some people think that he grades a little tough, but they don't realize that he has to. The outside world isn't going to be easy on you either. i am a photography major. i had little experience in photoshop but was looking forward to learning the use of the program. after taking this class with lon i was better off before i started. he told me i have no talent and crushed my dreams to ever pursue a career in the field of my dreams. he challenged my political beliefs and he worships satan.

photography was my passion. photography was my life. photography was my reason for breathing. i have never ever ever received anything but an A in an art class until i met lon. i wound up with a C-... busted my butt and ended the semester with a crushed soul. whatever you... do not take any class with this man. he will emotionally rip you down.

i thought lon was a great prof. assignments were clear and he gave us just enough time to work but not too much to goof off. a genuinely nice guy and very funny. i wish i could have him again in other art classes, i learned so much!
