Dr. Piitz is an amazing pianist, and teacher, and a compassionate and humble person. I disagree with many of the negative comments below. Dr. Piitz would go out of her way to offer extra advice, and was very understanding and helpful when I was having trouble. She always spoke with poise, elegance, clarity, and positivity.

I took a graduate piano lit course. She had a very general syllabus. Pacing at the beginning was very slow, followed by flying through material at the end. Often lets her ego show. She changes her mind and forgets what she has told you. Can hold grudges and can make snide comments in class. Not well prepared for lecture.

Dr. Piitz is incredibly difficult to work with. She will often tell a student one thing and then change her mind about it later, or tell different students contradicting things. She claims to have a clear syllabus, yet she clearly makes the rules up as she goes. She is manipulative and condescending, and lacks social graces.
