His grading is very hard, but well worth it. There is some reading for the course, but nothing crazy. He is very accessible outside of class, and if you're struggling, take advantage of this! His papers are very hard, but his syllabus is very detailed and tells you what is expected. PARTICIPATE IN CLASS- or any class you have with Manza.

This was the most awful class I have ever taken. He does not offer help but instead makes you feel stupid. Take it with kitchens if you can. It is not worth the stress or time.

Manza is a prof that you hate to have, but are glad you did. For those of you headed to grad school, consider his classes a great prep for that! True, his exams are challenging, but with the other grades in the class, it isn't hard to do well...and when you do, it is a great sense of accomplishment. Classes are engaging and fun. Don't be afraid!

I am surprised that many people like this professor. I found him massively anal retentive and uninteresting. He seems to lack depth as a professor. His approachableness depends more on a reciprocal affinity for each other and not for your interest in the concepts of psychology. His grading sytem is stupid and overly complex.

Over time I've really learned to like his classes. At first it's a shock. He expects a lot out of his students. Once you have experience and understand what he wants you will be fine. I'm actually going to miss the discussions in class. Try his class for yourself - don't let everyone scare you!

This is the only problem I have: He doesn't want to mix creationism with science, which is okay with me. But he thinks it's okay to mix his political bias with his teaching. It's disgusting. Otherwise, very helpful and interesting.

Dr. Manza is a double edged sword. His classes are awesome. He is so fun and interesting and thorough. Always available for help. But his tests are impossible! And so the grade sometimes suffers. Plan to study at least 10 hours for an exam if you want an A!

Dr. Manza is a great guy, although I don't care for his political bias which he illustrates over and over by making generalizations about the Republican party. I am there to learn the material, not to hear his political commentary.
