- Heavy on group work and expects you to pick your partner instead of assigning groups like other profs. - Doesn't use the tools actual game developers use like C sharp, but instead JS which is mainly for phone games/websites - Passive Aggressive when work is given past the due date even when students have personal issues, passes them off as lies

Definitely not the worst professor, but he can make some improvement. Lectures a lot but goes off topic. Sometimes isn't specific with the exact things you need to know. Will most likely have to do a lot of figuring things out on your own.

One of the best teachers in CS department and perhaps broadly at Iona. Very in-depth knowledge of the topics at hand. You need to attend every class and take good notes. Very much enjoyed the class.

Very very hard grader. Does not explain much and easily frustrated. Can get rude when you ask questions. He makes you feel stupid for not understanding things. I would not take him again if i had the choice not to. Has me considering dropping computer science as a major.

I have a taken Dr. Ivanov for many classes while pursuing my CS degree and I must say that he is undoubtedly one of the best professors at Iona College. His mastery of the subject matter will astound you as and inspire you to try and reach that level of understanding. He will make you work for it but you will learn more than you thought possible.

I have had 6 classes with Dr. Ivanov, and I have to say, he is one of THE BEST professors that Iona College has to offer. While his classes can be overwhelming, you will get the most out of them and be prepared for anything after graduation. He is truly an academic. You cannot say you have a CS degree from Iona, without taking an Ivanov class.

Dr. Ivanov is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the material. He clearly explains the data structures and algorithms and gives real life examples of their use. He is always available to answer questions via email and has regular office hours. There are weekly coding assignments which get increasingly difficult throughout the semester.

What a man! Old and current, he knows it all. Doesn't make you feel stupid if you don't know something but expects you to try hard to understand, only the good ones do that! You aren't beaten if you miss class but I don't advise it because you will be missing out on a lot of knowledge. A Good CS Teacher!!!

I think that he is the best teacher ever! He is a human computer brain. His classes are hard but you feel good about yourself when they are done. His practice test are almost nothing like the real thing so study everthing. If you really want to learn a thing or two about computers I would advise you to take him!

This class has a lot of material to cover and he taught it all off the top of his head! He's a great professor ... always there for extra help and he's got a sense of humor. I have taken 3 classes w/him. You will never have to buy a text! Big Plus!

This guy is the man. He knows EVERYTHING about computer architecture. If you want to learn, take him. It's a very difficult course with a ton of info, but he does his best to cover everything. The programming labs(intel assembly) are hell.

There is a lot to learn in this class, and Ivanov knows it all off the top of his head! Excellent teacher, but could benefit from some condensed notes so hands don't cramp taking dictation. The text was sort of usless, buy the Schaum's Outline instead.
