She is very knowledgeable about materials and explains them thoroughly. However, she is very rude to most students. She asks for participation but belittles you when you share thoughts that differ from hers. Her marking scheme is unclear and she doesn't provide an explanation when you ask. Rolls her eyes and sighs often when students make comments.

Prof. Kroha is incredibly knowledgeable and wants her students to improve. With that in mind, you must complete the readings assigned in order to participate in the interesting class discussions involving the literature. I enjoyed these lectures so much that I'm sad the semester is over. Greatly improved my writing and fluency thanks to her.

She is my favorite professor! Very smart woman. Yes, she is a tough marker but that encourages you to challenge yourself and go beyond the obvious. I respect that she tries to lead students to something more than the average professor. She doesn't agree with everything to make you comfortable (like most profs do), because she wants you to improve.

Did not care about students opinions/feelings. Laughed at students work, provided no feedback or rubrics. If you didn't share her opinion, you were wrong. Asks for participation, shuts you down. Final test was expected to be one way and was completely different (more difficult). Expected to remember minor details from books from all 10 books.

Clearly knows her lit but she is a loathsome prof. No specific instructions for presentations, essays, or tests. Midterm and final were testing you for the most obscure symbols and locations from novels. Classes were not a safe space, she will interrupt you if she doesn't agree with you. Rude, discourages students from learning. Doesn't respect students as people. Teaches and considers only her own opinion, gives no indications of how to complete assignments or of how things are graded. Interrupts students and makes faces when she doesn't like what she hears. Marks essays by changing words into their synonyms at random.

Rather intimidating, not easy to be in class with her. Class could be interesting but she makes participating scary and is a tough and unclear marker. Alternates between seeming interested and concerned with you and your experience and knocking you down every chance she gets.

She's definitely intimidating in class, but if you get beyond that and go ask for help, assuming you do ALL the work, her classes are very rewarding.

She is the embodiment of the modern day Mussolini. She is a tyrant and she gets off on making other seem flawed. She is a person who has intelligence and potential and squanders it away by projecting her fears and anger onto her students. No one is safe. To survive her class you must assimilate and become like her, it is the only way.

Worst prof I have ever had at McGill. Relies way too much on her own opinion, which is considered WRONG by most of the class. Likes to listen to her own asinine comments.Rambles on about psychodynamics which is dead, just like Freud. Arrogant and hostile because everyone should look up to her as a Harvard alum. She needs to retire.

She's incredibly smart and well-read. Basically means you can't BS in work. Very hard marker--way too hard for intro class. Tons of work (250-400 pages a week plus essays). Picks favorites. I enjoyed the material but WAY 2 hard. Be warned--this class is not a warming welcome to first year. Hardest class all year by far. Puts others to shame.

Very smart woman. The readings can be interesting and you can see that she's really into literature. However, sometimes, she'll make you feel like you're the stupidest student on the planet. There is a lot of work to do, but if you like the topic and you actually want to learn about it, you should take her. Otherwise, avoid!!!

Professor Kroha is a fair professor. She may seem a bit intimidating at first because she knows so much but she values your opinion and cares about what you have to say. At the end, your grade is based on how much effort you put in and whether she believes you appreciated the course.

Rude and judgemental. Holds it against students that we need to leave her class ontime. Chooses her favorites and dislikes others. Course was interesting- but only her opinion is right.

She's a bit rude and repetitive but she chooses interesting works. Also, she becomes downright friendly if you do your work and participate in class. Not an ogre at all, in fact I quite liked her.
