Professor is willing to help you improve in Spanish. Super easy tests that almost everyone passes. Lectures are helpful in improving spanish. Homework isn't even accounted for in the grade, although labs are. One group project, that was easy. Participation is the key to success in this class.

Dr. Velez is a fantastic professor. Expect a LOT of assignment . But the hard work will definitely will help you to learn Spanish. Very dedicated and inspirational professor. Be ready to start the class as soon as she enters the classroom and says "Buenos dias, clase!" Highly recommended.

Dra. Velez is one of the best profesors on campus. Expect daily homework. She is very passionate about her work and you feel the need to keep up with her fantastic work. She cares about her students. Follow the syllabus, do the homework, participate in class and she will notice you. Highly recommend her.

I loved her. 3 tests, 2 very short essays. Homework due every class but easy since just questions from book. For tests she gives a study guide with about 20 items on it. To study: memorize 7 sentences for each item and then the test will ask u for 4 of them, plus an essay. Do REALLY well on the first 2 tests and be pleasantly surprised for final.

Dr. Velez is the best professor I have taken ever. She is caring not only about students but also about humanity in general. For every class she had inspirational comments about life, about our future. Study the guide lines for the exams , do the daily home work , participate in her lively class discussions and you can get an A easily. Good luck.

She is very sweet and funny. It is all lecture but she makes it simple, easy to follow, and interesting. She really cares that you grab the concept as a whole not necessarily specific details. Her tests are easy IF YOU DO THE STUDY GUIDES! definitely take her. I would take it again.

She is very knowledgeable, sweet, cares about her students, and funny. It was all lecture, but not boring. Easy to follow. Have to study for tests and you'll be ok if you do study. She gives study guides. Do those and you'll be fine. I guarantee you will enjoy her class!!

If you want to take Spanish 101, AND youre NOT fluent, DONT BOTHER. I know nothing about Spanish and I literally worked my butt off and I still didnt pass. First day into it, she was speaking in Spanish. And I knew I was screwed. Quiz and test are hard. You have to understand the concept to pass. I tried and tried but it was too hard. DONT TAKE HER

Taken 2 classes with her. If you can remember your vocab for the tests and can remember a minute of practiced oral then you for sure will get an A. She's funny and helpful and tests are ridiculously easy, you can be late you can miss class, just dont miss tests and oral presentation days. Orals are easy you speak for one minute, just rehearse it.

Velez rocks. Ive had her for 203 and 316. She is pretty laid back, she often pushes back tests and papers because she is just as lazy as we are. She is very nice and approachable. Tests are fair and she is passionate about her classes. I plan to take her in the future again if possible.
