Really nice, approachable old dude who's bizarrely amusing. Every class is a lecture which at 8am is hard to stay focused for. No midterm/final/homework, only 4 essays which are hard, but if you write exactly what he says in class you'll do great. I got A's on each essay by doing that. Didn't really read the textbook until I had to write them.

Only a few papers through out the year but thats all the work there is. Very hard to get an A but not hard to get a B. Boring lectures, all u do is sit there and take notes on a boring subject, don't take in the morning or late at night you won't be able to stay awake.

His lectures are extremely long and filled with rambling. However, the class is very easy if you are able to pay attention. He loves to see things in your essay that he has said in class. He also emphasizes what he wants in the essays over and over again. People who receive bad grades, are the ones who show up and do not pay attention at all.

This man is very passionate about philosophy. However, his classes are the most boring thing to sit through. He rambles on forever and is also very creepy. Would not recommend him. If you do have to take his class, write down everything he says because he loves when you quote him and the book in papers.

This class is really boring. He rambles all class. Kind of a creep towards girls and we have a kid in our class who has to argue with him about everything making the class pointless..... Only 4 essays in class.

Took this Prof after reading negative reviews here and was pleasantly surprised to find they are not accurate. He is VERY helpful and VERY understanding. If you have any issues on your first paper just talk to him about it then and you will be fine. No tests, just short papers, if you can write a good essay you will do well in this class.

I was a fan of Boyer. 4 Papers (Including Midterm + Final). He usually rambles on all class, but just write down everything he says. In the papers, insert the phrases that he uses and you will do great. Basically writes the papers for you. He is very enthusiastic about a boring topic. Tries to help as much as he can, nice guy. Santa lookalike.

Great Guy. Truly very nice and helpful. Easy class and if you are not disrespectful to him he really does care about you. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TALK TO HIM FOR LIKE 3 MINS AFTER CLASS 4 OR 5 TIMES AND YOU'LL BE SET!

worst professor my far. he is not only senile, but he is also incredibly inappropriate! he constantly objectifies woman and makes girls in class feel uncomfortable. not only that but he goes off on the longest tangents and then assigns a paper with little background. don't take this class

He is an odd person, but at the same time I feel it makes him unique and interesting, I thought he was somewhat charming even. The class is actually pretty easy, don't do any work until he gives you a paper to write, then simply read the chapter WHILE writing the corresponding assignment.

A completely senile professor, goes off on rants every single class then assigns papers with little direction. Gives useless help when asked, and often makes inapropriate remarks. Avoid if possible, but if you get stuck with him, make sure you read the book or you'll have nothing to write about when the papers are assigned.

Best class I have taken. Excellent and extensive use of the text book. He may come off as odd, but look closer and you'll realize his brilliance. Extremely nice, funny, and social. Has a vested interest in students. Knows what hes talking about. Knows how to incorporate a textbook. Level of effort must be high, but definitely worth it. BOYER RULES!

Philosophy can be a difficult subject to master. It's often dry and incomprehensible, but don't take that out on the professor. In my opinion, Boyer did the best that he could do. People say he rambled on, but if they were actually paying attention they'd know he was lecturing on philosophy -- they just couldn't understand it.

what a strange little person, if you can make out the important information his rampling on about the looks of the girls in the classroom and his talk about dead deer and cannibal cats then this won't be too badd, but he is a scary old man and can be considered a **** that likes to talk a lot about nothing, if your a looker this class is easy.

Not a great teacher. If you have the opportunity, don't get him, but if you do get stuck with him, write down all he says, no matter how incomprehensible his words may be. 4 papers, just write exactly what he says. He likes to see you listened to him. Listen in class and you'll be fine.

An interesting character and sly old man. He will help if you meet with him after class. His explanations are a bit weird but if you listen closely you realize his tangents arenĂ¢€™t really tangents and having meaning. Nice guy overall and tells you what he wants to hear. Just use notes in paper. Overall im glad i took him.
