EASY A! JUST TAKE HIM. HE'S LAID BACK AND HE WANTS HIS STUDENTS TO BE ENGAGED IN THE CLASS SO BE PREPARED TO PARTICIPATE. DO THE READINGS. EXAMS ARE PRETTY EASY. JUST MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN AND TAKE NOTES FROM HIS HIGHLIGHT REVIEW. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!

Prof. Bassey is a unique character. He's quite funny and gives lots of anecdotes from his life. There is a lot of reading (from the textbook as well as handouts), but as long as you know some key points you'll be fine. The discussion is participation based, but he does give highlights. Oh, and the round of applause after everything? That's true.

Dr. Bassey makes everyone active in class. Both the midterm and final were easy. Also the two papers were decent (5 pages each). He has no visual aid, but he does review in class with his "summaries" for the exams. He gives explanations much clearer than the textbook. Like what he often says in class, "Give him a round of applause."

Bassey is awesome. He has this loud, booming voice and an even louder laugh. He's a pretty funny guy, but it's not immediately obvious. Perfect class for grad students who are employed full time--one simple multiple choice exam and a short research paper. Readings and discussions are quite interesting as well. "Give him a round of applause!"

He gives a midterm and final. VERY clear what's gonna be on it ;) 2 papers, which are not too bad He has an accent, which can at times be difficult We always work in groups based on the reading (everytime) He does this thing where we clap after someone participates, you'll get over it The class itself was like a sociology 100 or 101 class

Dr. Bassey is a wonderful professor. He knows what he is talking about. His accent does not make him a bad teacher and im still able to understand what he is saying. He is a sweet heart. He is very nice and funny and i would definitely recommend the class.

He takes a little getting used to, but professor Bassey is intelligent and a good facilitator. You'll have to read the section before hand, then be prepared to discuss in groups. One midterm (not too hard), one final, and two papers.

He is one of my favorite professors. He has experience and he does not contradict himself which I find most QC professors do. Give him around of applause.

This professor should not be teaching. His round of applause is not necessary and his classes are useless. You can read the textbook and pass the class. His handouts were pointless and he doesn't help you at all outside of class. He doesn't know your name and he will not try to help you. He is a nice guy but if you want to learn dont take the class

I don't like to speak bad of professors so I will comment on the class itself. The subject is boring, and the applauses are not needed. I was subjected to the longestt two and a half hours of my life in this class. Queens College should do away with this class or revamp the curriculum!

it is hard to keep up with his notes but his summary's contain all the answers. multiple choice questions so just read the questions carefully. Its his way of being tricky. He knows the class is mandatory so just read the text and it will make the classroom discussion bearable. overall a really nice guy

He was entertaining. His tests were a little tricky but if you: 1)Attend class 2)Take good notes on the "summary" at the end of the classes, 3) focus your study time on reading related to the "summary" topics, maybe even make flash cards, you should do fine. I got an A but probably didn't quite deserve that. God helped me out a bit.

Incredibly boring. Self-aggrandizing to the point of nausea; made the class read dozens of articles authored by him. He never set clear expectations of the class, never explained what he wanted out of the assignments, and the tests were poorly written.

The best way to describe Dr. Bassey is...REPETETIVE. On top of that, he indulges off-topic discussions for too long. When all is said and done, after a 3 hour class, only about 45 minutes is actually spent on-topic. Mid-term is on 2 chapters (50 pages), consisting of 40 multiple choice questions. edit: So...the day after I wrote this review I took this idiot's mid-term. Again..it is multiple choice. The problem is...of the 40 questions given, about 6 or 7 of them had two choices that could have been correct. No! Seriously! Two correct choices out of four, for a question that you needed to choose one answer.

Professor Bassey is very unapproachable. I never asked questions because every time someone did, he would say to read the book. Also, I don't understand his method by rounds of applause. The chapters are not structured accordingly. We bounced around from the beginning of one chapter for the midterm to the end of the chapter for the final. Very

He is a nice professor. Sometimes he's hard to understand b/c english is not his first language but overall a good teacher. He likes to put you in groups to discuss the chapters and as long as you read the material, the questions on his exams will be easy.
