Comment:

Maite is very knowledgeable in her field. She sometimes delivers her presentations poorly, but reviewing her slides usually clears up any confusion. She's a bit intimidating to speak with tbh. As for readings, it was a good balance between interesting material and boring background info. She let us pick our own topics for assignments, thankfully.

The way she taught it was dry. She didn't even teach, but read through her slides. I had to learn it on my own time. When I asked her a question it just made me more confused. The multi choice is individual, but written is with a group, but the final is all individual. The tests usually had info never taught, read ahead, do the practices

So RIDICULOUS! Letter grading scheme is ridiculous! 60% is a D? Gives students notes from the textbook and you will still have to read in depth. She does give examples in class for some clarity. Not the worst, but definetly not the best either.

Good teacher, but impossible to change marks on an exam. she is very set in her answers and will not bend to consider someone else's thoughts or point of view. Note of advice for short answer questions: less is more, she doesnt like long answers.

Maite is a reasonable person. Make sure you go over all the notes, do the exercises that she provides, and come up with & keep asking questions -you have to do this on a weekly basis-. Show respect, it will be a fun class. If you study hard enough, you'll get good results. She is a good prof.

Maite really knows her stuff, she comes to class well prepared and enthusiastic. However, not enough examples are given which makes the course very difficult. Not enough time for midterms (only 50 min) and the marking sceme too high (too many pple @ a 'D'). Ling 200 STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!
