You won't find a better teacher on this planet! He changed my life. I have had many teachers, and he is the most engaged, caring and a fabulous artist. He is willing to make you part of his life: 15 years after taking his class he still remembers me! I became a teacher and artist because of him.

Prof. Montoya is amazing. He truly has the ability to make you look at the world through a completely different view. Truly eye-opening, especially because he was an pretty famous and important person in the Chicano movement of the 60s and 70s and even today. He has first hand experience that is unlike anything you can imagine. A unique experience

Malaquias changed my life! He was the most memorable professor of all my 7 years of college so far. He really treats you like a person, not a number, and his community murals inspired me to become a muralist. I wouldn't be the same without him.
